Hi Guys,

I'm having my surgery mid of July. I need to ask if there are any general preparations b4 the surgery that I need to do, for instance, will I need a compression vest after the sugery, should I buy it now. Any comments/other preparation ideas is a great help. Thanks everyone.

Regards all

The day before surgery quit eating and drinking after midnight. Don't wear deodarent to the hospital. You'll probably be given the compression vests (ask your doc though).

Good luck. It'll change your life.

The most important general preperation is as follows......
Do not expect miracles my man.
You won't come out of surgery looking like a body builder ( unless you go in looking like a body builder )
You could heal in 1 month.
You could heal in 6 months.
You may feel minimal pain.
You may ache for weeks/months.
Good luck  ;D

WELL put. Your PS more than likely will have the vest. Ask he/she.
8 years of suffering Mild gyne...
2 surgeries & $6,000 later....
         STILL PUFFY   :/

The list of things to do prior to surgery

General physical check-up. Gynecomastia is harmless physically; but it sometimes is an important symptom of other, more serious problems.

Has the breast growth remained unchanged for a long time? (Years)

Are you absolutely sure that there is not any endocrinological condition which may cause regrowth.

Honestly, are your expectations of the surgical outcome realistic?

  • Wilma, grab the lotion, we're going to the beach!
I've got nothing to add that hasn't already been said.

I want to 2nd the importance of BillyBob's advice about not expecting miracles.

Hopefully you'll look significantly better after surgery, but it probably won't look perfect.

I hope I'm wrong.

Your questions are answered in my book Demystifying Gynecomastia. I would recommend reading it before your surgery.

My newest book: Facing the Truth of Your Life is very relevant to members of this forum. It could save you a lot of unnecessary pain and time.

Personally i'd reccomend not buying it as Merle has shown a complete inability to understand the effects of gynecomastia on plain old ordinary guys... (unless your a tranny cross dresser  ;)) oh and he also banned me as well for asking some perfectly legitimate questions about this site, the conduct of some of the homosexuals who use this place as a porno hook up site and just come here to check out pics of men... especially teens with breasts  :-X

Seeing as he lacks any integrity and can't even 'demistify' this forum. I'm puzzled as to how he even managed to write a book on the subject.

Must be one hell of a boring read.

P.S You can get all the advice you need for free by posting any questions in this forum. From people who aren't here to make money off you.

You do realize that without Merle...there would be no gynecomastia.org site? Him advertising his book so he can help cover the cost of this site (domain names and hosting aren't the cheapest thing buddy), which also contains a wealth of information, should not be deplorable but commendable.

Unless you are a communist (no offense if you are) I can't understand why people get so offended when someone is trying to make a buck. Especially if you know they are.  If you don't want someone to make money off of you, don't give them any. It is Simple.  Everyone on this site, hopefully, makes money.  Could you imagine if you went to work and someone said to you "you just came hear, because you want to make buck".  How silly would that sound.  I am just happy this is a free forum.  I am on here a bit to much, and I can't tell you the name of one person who advertises here.  It is not like yahoo with a ton of pop ups or banner ads.  Let's relax fellas.
