So I'm getting pretty damn tired of being disgusted everytime I look myself in the mirror, I cringe everytime myself with a tight shirt on, I always feel my chest and flex it for some reasin. But my real problem lies in the fact that I'm afraid of not training for a couple of weeks .. I believe its the only thing that makes me happy.

Most of my training is martial arts and I'm scared of falling behind if I take a couple of weeks off, it really means the world to me and I can't stand the thought of me not doing it for a longer period like that.

So my question really is how many of you have this same problem where you fear the fact that you won't be able to workout?

I was never into Martial arts. 
I have never been a fan of any exercise program.
I do not like gymnasiums. 
I have never thought of myself as anything other than a normal male. 
A cyclist, hiker, backpacker, and climber,  I never had a problem meeting fitness standards while in the military or as a Police Officer. 
The list of my various diagnoses takes a whole typed page. Even so, at 79, I personally describe my state of health as somewhere between very good and excellent. 
I have to confess that I have serious problems understanding people who are depressed.  If something annoys me, I find that the easiest thing to do is to ignore such things. 
My family and friends describe me as being "Low Maintenance."

Not being able to train for a few weeks is so worth getting the surgery if it bothers you that much.You will feel 100 times better and 100 times more confident while training or doing competitions.  Trust me I got the surgery and now work out 2 hours daily.  Before I haven't worked out in over decade.

I think you need to weigh your level of disgust (your word), which you feel all the time, against taking a break from training for a few weeks.  In my mind, there's no contest - I'd get the surgery.  It may sideline your training for a few weeks, but you'll make up for the lost time.  And think of how much more self confidence and psychological strength having the end results of the surgery could be.

I usually request my patients to avoid strenuous physical activities for four weeks and martial arts (where you may be hit/kicked in the chest) for a minimum of six weeks.  After that, back to the gym with my blessing.

And within a few weeks of return to the gym, you should be back to your pre-op routine and strength -- but you will have a much better chest.
