I'm wondering how the healing process works right after surgery...

I'm now on day 4 post op and I am feeling much more mobility today than I thought I would.  How does it feel after 2 weeks?  I know I can't bench press, but does it feel like you can do everything else normally?  Like lift light things without pain to the chest?

Any other feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

  • Wilma, grab the lotion, we're going to the beach!
Chansam:

At the two week point, I was pretty much doing everything I normally would, with the exception of working out. At that point, the drains were gone and I only felt a little discomfort when my arms were stretched back, pulling my chest.

I could get a shirt on by myself, walk, etc... pretty normal stuff at 2 weeks.

I was however, still wearing my compression vest. Seems everyone's different, but my PS had me wear it for about 30 days.
