Title: Sono Bello Work?
Post by: Hoss on July 15, 2018, 11:11:56 PM
Does anyone have experience with Sono Bello gynecomastia surgery?

I have an appointment scheduled for August 3rd.

I’m 33 years old and have been dealing with gynecomastia for over 20 years. I cannot deal with this condition anymore. My self esteem and intimacy suffer greatly due to my gynecomastia.

I’m sacrificing a lot to be able to pay for this surgery and I want to be satisfied.

I’ve attached some pics also.

Sono Bello is  a company which features low cost plastic surgery.  It has numerous clinics across the nation.  Not all the surgeons may be fully trained plastic surgeons.  You should check the credentials and background and experience doing gynecomastia surgery with the surgeon who will be doing your surgery and not accept a substitute surgeon at the last minute.

Thank you Dr. Jacobs. Hopefully I’ll be able to post some fabulous “after” pics.

I’m just hoping for an improvement in my chest.

My doctor says it may be difficult to do the area under the nipple because it’s hard but that liposuction should take care of everything else.

A word of caution.  Most of the time, lipo and gland excision are needed to get an optimal result.  And you should be looking for an optimal result, not "an improvement."  Optimal results usually occur in the hands of gyne expert surgeons.  Remember, the best chance for an optimal result is your initial operation.  Revision surgery, if needed, is always playing "catch up."

Good luck and keep us posted.

I had my surgery yesterday… And these are the results.

I don’t see much of a difference. I’m wondering if it’s just swelling or if this is the end result. ???

Certainly an improvement, which is what you wanted or were willing to accept.  The good thing is that there is minimal bruising.  The is undoubtedly swelling -- it will take at least 4-8 weeks to see anything close to the "final result".

Until then, keep us posted.

It’s been a little over four weeks and these are my results. Sadly, I’m disappointed and feeling I’ll have to seek additional surgery from someone else in order to excise. I was told I would be a “great candidate” for trisculpt lipo and I probably shouldn’t have signed all the paperwork. I know I probably can’t receive any sort of refund and am quite upset that I spent so much money for what seems to be very limited change.

Any advice for seeking better results are welcome.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment.

You are definitely smaller than your pre-op pix -- and that is what you had said in one of your earlier posts (you were looking for an improvement -- and that is what you got).  This result is consistent with those folks who have lipo only.  Lipo can remove some of the fat, thereby rendering a smaller breast, but it absolutely cannot get rid of the gland component, which requires excision, and which would provide you with a taut, contoured masculine chest..

If you were looking for the best possible result, then lipo alone, as I previously stated, would not get you there.  Further, you now have (or will have) some scar tissue under the skin which will make any subsequent revision surgery more difficult and less predictable.  And, you will probably have to pay for it -- unless SonoBello provides free revision for you.

This all serves as a reminder to all readers that you do "get what you pay for."  There are no short cuts to getting a good result with gyne surgery.  Most of the time, it does require lipo plus excision, and any doc who says that lipo only will suffice is simply selling you a bill of goods -- just to get you to sign for surgery.

As I have often said, do your homework, don't rush, get several consults, look at multiple examples of pre/post op photos, speak to prior patients -- and then decide with whom to have your surgery.  There are gyne specialists across the country -- find one near you.

Always be wary of surgery when price is the basis of selection of the surgeon.  When I had my triple bypass surgery last summer I was concerned about the qualification of the cardiac surgeon, not about the price.  In any case, that surgery was covered by my insurance. Because male breast reduction is most often an elective procedure, it is commonly done at the expense of the patient and not covered by most insurance policies.
Also be wary of a clinic or surgeon who makes use of a lot of testimonials and endorsements.

I will save up and wait until I’m healed (perhaps 6 months to a year) and try again. Hopefully my initial surgery won’t make revision impossible.

It looks like you needed gland removal. You don't have much fat in that area, and that is what liposuction removes. I made the same mistake the first time.

Thanks. How did your revision surgery work out?

It went ok, my doctor did a satisfactory job. Better but not perfect. I'm going for round 3 soon. Still a lot of fat in the area.

Gemidude,

How long after your initial surgery did you wait to get the revision surgery?

First I’m sorry for anyone who has not received the result they were looking for when undergoing surgery.
However as for sonobello it is just a sales framework and infrastructure provider for local surgeons that otherwise work elsewhere. And yes it does work, I had mine done through sonobello. I researched my surgeon before I signed anything and he was a fantastic local plastic surgeon that otherwise has privileges at two of the nations largest and very reputable hospital system. He was very experienced with decades as plastic surgeon.
And yes the chest ex procedure includes excision with the lipo.
Pricing wasn’t cheap but competitive with what I read and found out elsewhere, what I liked about sonobello was the final number was what I paid incl garments, scar healing goodies… I only spend 7$ at the pharmacy for post op meds.
My results are fantastic and exceeded my expectations. I had mild gyno  but it had bothered me for a long time. With severe cases it may be a good idea to go to a gyno specialist.
Maybe some sonibello locations would sell you just lipo without excision even if it may not be the right procedure for you.
But for me sonibello worked out great it always depends on the surgeon not a brand…

JimKn,

I'm glad you got a good result from your Sonobello plastic surgeon. It sounds like he is an experienced gynecomastia surgeon.  But I agree with Dr. Jacobs here. It is more important to search for a plastic surgeon who is actually trained in plastic surgery (some are not) and has a lot of experience with gynecomastia surgery. Patients with true gynecomastia need gland excision, and Sonobello promotes liposuction.
