I'd rate it a 3. Look at Dr. Jacobs too in Manhattan.
-
thanks, anyone else? and if i do get surgery any estimates on how it would turn out and recovery time?
-
I am 20 years old and I too live in South Jersey. I went to Dr. Lo for a consultation and I didn't like him. He really didn't deem to know what he was doing. I decided to have surgery with Dr. Baxt in Paramus NJ in March of 2007. He does the procedure a little differently. Instead of doing liposuction and then making an incision around the areola, he just makes a small incision near your armpit and uses a specialized tool to break up the glandular tissue and then uses liposuction to remove the glandular tissue and excess fat. His website is www.cosmedical.com
The procedure went well, I seriously had no pain, I never took any pain medications. I drove myself to class two days after surgery and could have went to class the day after surgery even. The only problem is a few weeks after surgery I developed some scar tissue under my nipples. I talked to the doctor and he said to wait and let things heal for a several months. The scar tissue went down somewhat but I am making an appointment to go back and see what he can do, he will probably inject some cortisone to get rid of the remaining tissue.
Good luck

thanks a lot man, any pre/post op pics? and wat did he charge?
-
I forgot to take pre-op pics but when I go back for a follow up I will ask for them and post them.
The surgery cost $5,000 including anesthesia and any other costs (except sales tax), he has his own surgery center in his office.
He uses local anesthesia with sedation so you are asleep but not under general anesthesia.
My mom is a nurse and was happy I wasn't going under general.
Good Luck

anyone else wanna rate or opinions?
-
looks like you have it, not bad though, i'd give it 4/10 .. the question is on how much it bothers you as with most of us here.
-
You don't seem to have a terrible case of it.. You do have it, but it's seems to be a case that with the surgery, it wouldn't take you long to have an awesome looking chest at all with the muscular contour you seem to have..
I'd rate it a 3/10... Somewhat noticeable from a front view, a little more prominent from the side profile.. But certainly not an extreme case..
-
thanks a lot guys
-
"Quite" visible in my opinion. However, there is far worse ! I'd rate it at 5.

What??? Why not general? Please explain :-\
-

What??? Why not general? Please explain :-\
There are typically more risks involved with going under general anesthesia compared to local due to the fact of being unconcious for some period of time.

-
congrats.. did the dr say how much he / she took off ? did u get lipo, excision, or both ?
-
no he didnt say how much but i know he did both lipo and excision. i get my drains out tomorrow thank god there so f'ing annoying and i kno i will be so much better without them there the only thing i feel like r holding me back of feeling good lol they hurt i dont like em.
-
you should'nt worry about the drains bro, they will only benefit you in the long run .. enjoy them while they're still therel =)
-
hahah yea i kno, i can tell that they r helping its just that there annoying. there commin out tomorrow, i feel great the only pain is the drains wen i move certain ways and it pulls on the skin near the cut. overall chest area i jsut have a little soreness nothing big and a little swelling not much though and jsut about no bruisng just a little spot near the drain area. healing good so far and its only been like 2 and a half days. i still havent seen my nipples but i will tomorrow and ill let u know and take some pictures. so far im happy its just the nipples i have to see haha wish me luck.
-
3 days post op rate them i honestly dont know wat to think right now.
-
looks great, totally flat looking from front view .. do you shave any side views ? you should be satisfied ..
-
yea its only 3 days and doesnt look taht bad so far and i know it will only get better. im scared to shower though any suggestions? and a little part of my right nipple seems to not be atached to the skin adn not sewn just kind hanging there, is this ok? will it naturally go back to the skin?
-
here are some better pics, my nipples look a little weird and there is a little creasing on one side but it is only day 3 so im sure it will get a lot better. my doctor also said that in a week i should be able to switch over to under armour!
-
i'm looking into surgery w/ Lo too, any updates for us?
-
yooooo first time back to my thread in a while yea ill have updates tomorrow.
-
You look great already! Congratulations!!!! ;D ;D ;D
-
ok here my update, by tomorrow it will be 4 weeks!!! swelling is pretty much all down, i have full range of motion, the oonly bad thing is scar tissue and i have some lumps from it mostly on the lower part of my pecs. it makes a little crease under my left nipple but im sure once the scar tissue goes down it will be all good. as far as Dr. Lo hes a great PS i email him all my questions he responds within a few hours sometimes minutes. he did a pretty good job i think the only things that i dont like arent an act of him but just the way my body is healing (scar tissue). stitches are almost all out just a little havent dissolved yet. this week im getting back to the gym and gonna start lifting doing lighter weight and seeing how i feel from there but def gonna be pushin the weight if i feel comfortable.
-
Hey man. Chest is looking good. How was Dr. Lo? Are you pleased with your results?
-
wats up yea im pleased with them and i know its only gonna get better with time. Dr. Lo is a good doctor theres not much to say about him but hes got the credentials and he good with answering questions, i email him all the time with anything questions i have and hes quick to respond.
-
Thanks for the reply man. I'm scheduled for surgery on July 3rd with Dr. Lo. I'm Very excited! I'll let you know how it all works out.
-
def let me know and let me know what you think of him, is ur name john by any chance?
-
Nope, I'm not John. I'll keep you updated with my surgery.
