I had my original surgery in Oct '08 and a revision in Oct '09 because I felt like one side was still bigger than the other.  At this point, I truly feel my gyno is gone and I am happy about that, but I feel like I have new problems now.  The scars underneath my nipples were there since my original surgery, and were still there by the time I went in for my revision.  I apply mederma for scars several times a day but I'm not sure its making it any better.

Even worse are my nipples, particularly my left one.  Are they supposed to look like that?  Will scar cream fix that?  I had this surgery done is secrecy, to date, nobody other than my girlfriend knows.  But (obviously) I'm still very embarrassed about going to a pool or anywhere that I would be taking my shirt off.  Has anyone experienced this before?  Any doctors able to comment?  Is this something I need to get surgically fixed?  Please help.

But hey, at least you can walk around with a shirt on :) Also, your nipples ain't puffy anymore! And the scars really aren't that visible or noticeworthy in my opinion..

Your contours appear very good.  The pink scars below should fade to white -- but it may take six months to a year -- be patient.

The scars at the edge of the areolas are OK on the right but a bit irregular on the left.  You should speak to your surgeon to see if any type of scar revision surgery might help. Alternatively, a really good tattoo artist might be able to put some pigment in the white scar and camouflage it better.

Good luck!

I'm usually pretty strongly against tattoos, and I don't have any.  But that's actually a great idea, to fill in some pigment on my nipple.  Sounds a bit painful, but if its possible I'm sure it will be worth it.  Thanks so much for the tip,  I will definitely look into it!

I don't think your scars around the nipple are going to draw much attention at all.  Let's face it, nipples are wierd looking features in the first place.  No two look exactly alike!

FYI, that's probably easy for me to say.  I had surgery on 2/22 and my nipple tape has not come off yet.  Who knows!  I may be whining about my new nipples too!
