Posted this in ask a doc, but opening it up to everyone

Hi there, I'm 1 year post op now. Unfortunately I've injured my back recently (prolapsed disc). I hevd been prescribed codeine 60mg four times a day. I've been searching to see if there are any links between short term codeine use and gynecomastia. Are there?
I am so careful about what mess I take now, I'd rather have pain than risk any reoccurrence!

There is no known link between the two -- in fact I routinely prescribe it for pain in my post-op patients.
