I had surgery done and it came out to be what I considered perfect.  But then a week latter a little puffiness came back.  Then I could start to feel the hard scar tissue underneath.  My nipples have gotten a bit more puffiness with time, not any thing like they used to be, but still puffy.  I can feel the scar tissue which i am sure is causing it to come out a little, but there is a puffiness over that hard scar tissue. I have not heard any one say they felt puffiness over scar tissue.  My hormones are normal.  Does anyone have anything to say about my situation, or have had a similar or different experience than myself.  Your comments are much appreciated.

As long as you had gland removed then what you are experiencing is fine, and will last a few weeks/months while the skin reforms to your new chest. Before and after pics would give us a good idea of whats going on.

Ok I finally have some pics to post.  I want to say that I am very happy with the outcome, but I can go back to get anything done that needs to be done for only $15.00.  I am going to be very patient with the scar tissue healing. And am reluctant to go in for a second surgery in fear of even more scarring.   If I had to pay I wouldn't even concider it. Let me know what you think.  I am also posting these pics for anyone who is thinking of getting surgery done so you can see before you make a decision.  I wish I had taken pictures two or three days post op, because it was about as perfect of a job as it gets.  By the time I took the first set of post op pictures (about ten days later), I had gained weight back on my chest, and my nipples were more puffy.  I didn't gain any more weight on my chest, but my nipples did continue to get a little more puffy.  They have not gotten any more puffy in a few weeks now.  The last set of pics is about seven weeks post op, taken earlier today.

I hear ya man!  :)

My case (before and after) is almost identical to yours and I am experiencing the exact same thing.  I just can't wait for that day when I look in the mirror and say, "God, I'm glad that's over with!"

The scar tissue is kind of a pain, but I'm just glad I don't look like how I did pre-op.  No way, no how would I ever want to revisit that part of my life.  The one thing that keeps me sleeping sound at night is knowing that it's temporary.

Two and a half months in and I'm happy that I'm only moving forward.

Considering your preop pics, your result is great.

Scar tissue is something that we all get when going through the surgery but it does go away; don't feel depressed about it.

And don't worry it's not your gyne coming back, because it wouldn't develop that quickly. Some puffyness will still remain for a bit more time though, but it does go (mine has only just started to dissapear, although it was almost perfect after surgery, the scar tissue had brought it back up again).

Wait it out, and wear a singlet to flatten yourself a bit. Congrats on the results!

Yup scar tissue sucks. It takes time to go away. I am 7 months post op and still have some scar tissue. I have been seeing improvement though over the past few months. Hang in there!

im new here, had my surgery in october last year.

my surgeon left a bit of gland at the breast, because the nipple would sink down.
does every surgeon left a little bit of gland in there?

did your surgeopn take out all the gland or did he left something in the chest just like mine?

because mine looks exactly the same and i dunno if its gland or scar tissue

HELP

Some surgeons will leave some gland in each breast to reduce the chance of having a crater deformity.  It's usually just a little bit they leave in though.  Other times, some surgeons will take breast tissue out a little at a time and leave some in.  This approach also helps reduce chance of crater deformity but most times can result in revision surgery.

The nipple can get puffy after surgery and stay that way because of A) scar tissue formed behind the nipple or B) residual gland pushing the nipple out a little bit.  Only your surgeon can tell you if it is scar tissue or residual gland.  It is damn near impossible to figure this out on your own unless you're willing to wait a whole year to see an improvement.  Most surgeons have good deals on revision surgery though, thankfully enough.

but if the nipple is puffy bcause of scar tissue,it will go away???
you said,it wont...

and if its the left gland, you think the surgery will be free?
