My scars are barely noticeable. If you weren't looking for them, you'd never know...  ;)

Also may depend on how much you are having removed, skill of the surgeon (of course) and ultimately, the size of the incisions. To be perfectly honest, what's worse: scars or gyno? If your gyno is fairly mild, you might opt against the surgery based on the scarring that will result. However, if your gyno is affecting you a lot, let me assure you that scars won't make a difference to your decision.

GB, its a good thing that you have hairs around your areola to make a camouflage effect..
How long was your surgery anyway?

The scars around the edge of the areola tend to heal very well in most cases.  Of course, it depends upon how carefully your surgeon sutured the wounds, whether there was any separation of the wound or infection, and of course, your own genetic healing characteristics.  Smoking can also play a negative factor in the way you heal.

For people who have done the surgery, how bad are the scars.

Scars involve not just the surface access sites, but also the entire sculpted region.  That is why looking at pictures of how the chest moves after surgery can be so important to see such scar issues.

Here are a series of galleries showing some of the surface access scars:

Hope this helps,

Even without the hairs, you'd be hard pressed to spot the incision scars...  ;)

How long was your surgery anyway?

An hour and a half...

GP, how long after your surgery did it take for the scars to look as good as they do in your pics?  I agree, you can't see them at all, I really hope I get this result also.

It was about 6 months before the incision scars looked like they do in the pics...

Keep in mind that there are many factors that can influence final results...

GB, that's pretty phenomenal, did you use any creams or gels?  I am six months in right now and my scars are still pretty noticeable.

Nope... no creams and/or gels. Just let them heal naturally...  ;)

Do you have any recent pics?

That's pretty amazing.  I lent my camera to someone but will get it back this weekend.  I will put up some 6-month post-ops, let me know what you think about the scars.

about removing scars?
better check this out.

If the surgeon is skilled, and you take good care of the healing wound (keeping it clean and out of direct sunlight) for 3-6 months, then that should be all that is necessary...  ;)
