My doc said he would remove the stitches after 3 weeks from the surgery. Isn't this a little too long? I was reading online that leaving sutures in too long can create tunnels or leave piercing like holes in the skin. Should I remove these myself or should I just wait the 3 weeks?

thanks for anyones input.
