I've done a lot of reading and I don't know if my gyno will go away with weight loss and exercise or not. I'm sure a lot of members have been through this so I'm asking for advice. Here is a picture.

Yeah that's what I thought, it's gross just looking at the picture. I've lost weight in the past and that never worked. Anyone have an estimate on the cost of surgury anyway?

I've been down to 180 and it was still the same, well maybe it helped but it's been a long time but I know it didn't go away.

Get lypo, nothing else. It's all you need.Don't shop price, shop doctor.Usually $2500-$3500.The lypoed fat does not come back. You don't need to go on a weight loss diet.Cut the cabs suger, bread, pasta, pop.Read doctor Atkins book.Increased weight can increase hormone levels.Loosing weight won't make those go away.Youl take about a month to heel up.You can loose some nipple sensation or evan a nipple. So find the right doctor. They must deel with you with the upmost compassion.Avoid the butchers.Run a www.BBB.com on the doctor.Type in ph # and you'll get free info. ::)

I guess he should not check the doctors out.It must be OK to have a dentist do the surgery.Get it done with a butter knife for $500. Check my other post. There's info on average prices in USA for the procedure.Maybe you don't mind getting butchered. You opened my eyes.I must be nuts! Or maybe your one of those dentists. Quality, quality.Whats wrong with that. What's wrong with becoming an expert on the surgery.People have died from botched lipo surgery.Any surgery can have major ramifications. Be smart,be carefull.
Hope I did not hurt your feelings trying to help this guy out! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Try and find doctors that have a no consultation fee.Grab the yellow pages and call every plastic surgery doc and ask.
Plastic Surgery Prices
For years people believed that cosmetic plastic surgery was only for the rich and famous; but that just is not so! There is, however, more to cosmetic plastic surgery pricing than you might think.
The cost of surgery will vary based on your needs and the complexity of your desired procedure. Most procedures actually have four different, variable costs?
Those four costs are the surgeon's fee, operating room cost, anesthesia and if your procedure requires some type of implant there will be device costs. Potential patients that don't take the time to understand these costs risk confusion or frustration going in to their cosmetic plastic surgery procedure.

Surgeon's Fee
The surgeons fee for your cosmetic procedure will vary by the complexity and number of hours required to complete your desired procedure.

Operating Room Cost
Today, many surgeons utilize outpatient surgical centers to perform their procedures. Use of a suite in a surgical center will often cost from $600-$900 per hour. The complexity and duration of your procedure will affect this cost and in many cases your surgeon will ask you to make a payment directly to the surgical center for the use of their facility. Some surgeons do use an operating room in their own facility. In these cases they will very often include the operating room cost in under the umbrella of the Surgeon's Fee.
Anesthesia
A variety of medical professionals are qualified to administer anesthesia, but licensed professionals that administer anesthesia will charge between $200 and $350 per hour. Like operating room costs, your surgeon may ask you to pay for anesthesia separate from your surgeon's fee.
Devices
Breast, cheek and chin implants and injectables (botox, collagen etc.) are often referred to as 'devices'. Device costs will vary by implant size and quality or injectable volume. While device costs are usually included with the surgeon's fee, they can represent a significant part of your overall procedure cost.
The table below lists the National Average Surgeon's Fees for 2003, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. The prices in the table below do NOT the operating room cost, anesthesia and any device costs. Of course every surgeon will quote a different price, and prices will vary slightly by region. You should consult several surgeons in your area for a more accurate price quote (note that most will require you come in for a consultation).

Settle down young man.

That's the beauty of these boards, we all have the opportunity to express our opinions.

I say we bring back the ban on long winded posts.

Come up with something original. Don't copy and paste from a surgeons website.

Oh by the way....any diet that allows you to eat sausage and bacon but doesn't allow apples and bananas is fundamentally flawed.

GrandMstrBud -

It's always best to be at your ideal weight before surgery (the reasons have been discussed at length in various other threads).

Good luck to you and welcome to the boards.

Thanks for all the information everyone. What I'm doing now is trying to get in better shape and loose a few pounds before I go any further. I'll repost a picture in a few months that way others with the same thing can see if loosing weight and getting in better shape will help. This forum is great with a lot of information and I'm glad I came across it. I didn't even know what gyne was until a little over a month ago.
Thanks

I disagree with just about everything this guy says.

most of it made sense to me.  it's possible the doc might decide there's gland in there, you never know for sure till they look, but i think it could be the case, and the rest of it sounded like good advice.  although i wouldn't much worry that he'd lose the nipple, it'll stay.
* a man is more than a body will ever tell
* if it screws up your life the same, is there really any such thing as "mild" gyne?

Can I go to any doctor to have this looked at or do I have to go to a specialist?

  • Click below for my before and after shots!
I would look around for a good plastic surgeon, most of the time consultation is free
They can feel and tell the difference between fat and glandular and what you may need. Check out my pics, (click on the website icon) it was all glandular for me – I lost the weight (about 60 lbs. when I was younger) and was left with hard tissue. I had no liposuction, the breast tissue was excised (cut out) Anyway, a descent plastic surgeon will be able to give a few squeezes and tell you in minutes what the deal is. Good Luck  ;)
