OHIP just pays for the excision of the glandular tissue. That means you're not getting liposuction. The most experienced doctors say you need excision + lipo to get a good result.

Is it a plastic surgeon that specializes in gyne surgery?  Do you want to get butchered by an inexperienced doctor?

I would recommend Dr Fielding in Toronto. If you're getting the surgery done, you might as well get it done right.
My surgery was done on Oct 20th, 2014 by Dr. J. Craig Fielding in Toronto, Ontario.

most likely don't need lipo, i'm at about 9 percetn body fat, there's literally no fat to remove?

also, i dislike dr.fielding greatly, his staff is horrible, and he wants you in and out asap

i had an appointment with him, my appointment was at 1 o clock, after i bused in from niagara falls, and took a cab to the building i was there by 12:30, still early, i haven't even been to toronto before

he didn't show up till around 1:44, 44 minutes late, meanwhile i had to come from niagara falls

other than that, i got a surgery booked, the sheet of paper with the date i had to pay by said "if you don't pay by this date, your surgery will be cancelled automatically", i didn't pay, but i didn't call in, i had second thoughts, spending 4500 dollars on this procedure,

a week later i get a call from the mean girl that works at the front desk, saying stuff like how "we" will never deal with you again, how irresponsible i was for not calling in (closer to surgery date)

i said one second and got the piece of paper and read word for word what it said "surgery will be cancelled if didn't pay"

she went off and kept saying shit like "ohhh don't always trusst a piece of paper, call in"

so that's my experience with him, sorry if it doesn't make sense, on mobile

edit : also

"the most experienced doctors"

are in it for the money aspect of it, if they can get you to pay for it, and give you an estimate on how much it'll cost, that's them making money from you, my friend went to doctor fielding, he was obese and had a tiny bit of gyno, he only got charged 2600 for it, yet hes wanting to charge me near 4000, and i'm lower body fat, i wouldn't need lipo.

oh, and with that being said AGAIN

3600 dollars for the surgery is still a lot, even if i needed lipo, the gland removal should of been covered by ohip still, leaving liposuction costing 3600 dollars? uh no thanks

Going to a general surgeon is risky and results in most of the cases we hear horror stories about later.

Before you go,  Think about how much the revision surgery is going to cost later when you do see a proper specialist.
