The condition of hospitals and healthcare in South Africa has become dangerous.
A technician I know went into hospital for a small minor operation. He got an infection inside, was operated on again to clean him up, he got pneumonia in the hospital and died.
I'm dead scared of the hospitals here. The theaters are not functional, they run out of medications and even linen. There are power failures where the backup systems don't work and the place is full of drug resistant TB sufferers, sitting in long queues, waiting to be helped, coughing everywhere. One place you don't want to have any kind of op.
