I'm 29, which I know isn't old, but I'm sure the body recovers better from surgery at a younger age...

I'm slim with fairly noticable gynecomastia.  I look young for my age, mainly because my skin is still fairly soft and supple.

If I get surgery now, is it likely that the skin will be looser or not heal well?

Here's a photo

Also, any knowledge of a decent doctor in China who can do surgery?

Age and general health are factors to be considered in gyne surgery.  However, looking at your photo, I doubt if there would be a problem with your skin -- it should tighten nicely when the underlying excess tissue is removed.

In general, as we age, the skin slowly loses elasticity.  Smoking, excess sun exposure, etc will prematurely age the skin.  Also, if you are or have been many pounds overweight at only one time in your life, it too will have an effect on the skin's elasticity.  And ultimately, it is the skin's innate elasticity which allows surgeons to remove the excess gyne tissues through minimal incisions -- the skin tightens by itself right on the operating table.  And, as a side benefit, the diameter of the areola will shrink as well -- all by itself.

When skin has lost its elasticity, then sometimes we have to make additional incisions (with resultant scars) in order to achieve not only a better contour but tighter skin as well.
