Hi all,

I had my surgery 10 days ago - lipo and gland removal on one side only. The surgeon said he'd never seen so much gland - 'massive' in his words. Almost no fat.

As a result there has been quite considerable swelling. A week subsequently he tried to drain the fluid but it had congealed and despite several attempts, no draining was possible. The mass will just have to be slowly absorbed into my body. He mentioned possibly doing a subsequent procedure to mechanically remove the congealed fluid, but at this stage I'm reluctant to go down this road.

I appreciate that this is something I just have to wait out, but given the sheer scale of the swelling, I'm wondering:

* Are there potential long term impacts on my skin (e.g. stretching) associated with such severe long-term swelling?

* Are there any guestimates as to how long this process of absorbtion is going to take?

Thanks for any input anyone has!

Cheers
