Thank you for the referral
I agree that there is a large overlap of symptoms  and signs
None of the Symptoms of this showed up until recently and I am soon to be 72. The fertility aspect of this differential Dx is irrelevant and not useful as I have had a vasectomy in my early 20 s
Hair loss became noticeable 2 years ago, upper body strength reduced about a year ago .

Gynecomastia first noticed as puffy nipples a year ago
Breast growth showed up last fall and progressed quickly until the end of May
It has slowed since then and is no longer  painful  but it     is               an “ awareness “ now that there’s some activity in them
I am left with a noticeable bounce on stairs and while exercising and recently annoying right breast tenderness while driving from the seatbelt
Is it KS ? Possibly
Is it MEN 1 or 2 ? Could be more likely
Or simple hypogonadism?

Jury is out still but have piqued the Endocrinologist’s curiosity

Hoping that there is no osteoporosis or CA diagnosis as I am still under cancer surveillance for colon lesion 4.5 years ago

US yields no definite answer but last impression remark stated that ‘ no measurable lesions  are found but neoplasm formation cannot be ruled out’

I have been through this before
Waiting is difficult and healthcare has slowed up since then due to Uncle Sam involvement and Covid

I remain a positive person despite the event horizon. Happy me.

I typically wear 3 different bras a day. I wake up wearing my sleep bra, then I change into my sports bra for either a run or a workout. I shower after and bring my sports bra I with me and wash it while I shower then hang it to dry. I wear my regular underwire bra for work for about  12 hours or so and just before bed, I get back into my sleep bra or just my nightie if it has enough support.

Alas, the best I can do as a single man not in a romantic or sexual relationship is to fantasize about fingers or lips on my breasts.  Yes, it is tantalizing.  I certainly know from my years of being in such relationships how pleasurable such moments can be for both partners.  You are the rare person Sophie who has experienced it from both sides.  It is wonderful that your wife was willing to join you on this journey.  I know that happens, but I know it doesn't always happen.  And, thank you for sharing your perspective with all of us.  This gender thing is quite amazing.  We'd like to believe it is binary, but as young folks are demonstrating to us right now... there is a non-binary world and gender is fluid.  How else to explain men talking about their breasts and favorite brassieres?  ::)

No doubt weight gain can affect our hormone balance.  In reading about causes of gynecomastia you'll generally see excess weight as a contributing factor... as  your doctor explains.  The Mayo Clinic says "Aging. Hormone changes that occur with aging can cause gynecomastia, especially in men who are overweight."  Many of us gained weight during COVID both because of changes in activity level and often emotional eating because of stress.  That certainly happened for me and, coincidentally, it was during this time that I began hanging out here AND experimenting with wearing a brassiere.  A 42C brassiere is carrying a significant amount of breast tissue, so it works for me even though I'd do fine without a brassiere.  And I don't wear one full-time.  This is all new territory to explore as you fellows are doing.  Good luck with the exam.  It is good to be with kindred spirits.

"I certainly get a lot more attention nowadays too, even though I am still relatively small, mainly because of the way that I present myself. Over the past few months I have been far more relaxed about being accepted for how I am, and it has paid dividends. I love the attention that I get nightly, tolerating the irritation because my wife wants to go for it."

That is wonderful to hear.

When my wife and I first got together. She knew all about my gynecomastia and that I  wore a bra. However I would always get changed in a different room and never naked with the lights on.  She actually made the first move and it was the first time that I had ever experienced the pleasure of having my nipples suckle. One night, long before transitioning, I wore my regular underwire bra to bed and made her work for access to my girls. It was fun for both of us to have that role reversal happen.

I am in the same position. I will be seeing a doctor in about a month. I know because of my family history they will want a mammogram. I am now a 40C. I am also in my 50s and will not get surgery. I like to run and lately the only way I can run without pain is to wear a sports bra. I don't understand and am trying to figure things out one day at a time. You are not alone.

I would like to thank you all for your comments and making me feel welcomed. I would also like to thank you all for respecting my wishes to not expose my breasts whether with a bra or braless. And to not receive anything of the same. This is a different position for me and I know you all went through it in your own way. And that is what I am trying to do. I decided to tell a couple of my family members about it. This is going to be a huge step for me. I will let you all know how it goes. Please, if you don't mind, would you say a prayer for me. Thank you all.

I just wanna see if there’s anything to be concerned about. In roughly a two year. I went from a fat chest to enlarged Aerolas, larger nipples and what feels like definite growth. Both sides feel like somethings growing in there. I asked my doctor for a mammogram after he did a physical exam and he agreed just to make sure there’s no problems. But getting to that point is a major pain in the ass. It’s really all I want to do is verify and get the doctor to run a scan and  my blood work looks relatively OK but I have fluctuating up-and-down testosterone levels. Between 10 years ago and now I’ve gained about 65 pounds. The doctor thinks because of my weight gain is causing my T to convert to E through aromatase. I’m not on any medication‘s that would’ve triggered this that I know of I asked about going to an endocrinologist he wants to hold off until the results of the scanner back.  I’m just happy I’m getting the scan done.  And all I was asking about when it came to the scan is if they’re able to measure how much actual breast tissue you have on both sides and how dense is it and how far along is it like the Tanner stages.   Those are the things I’m curious about because to be honest I’m not a doctor I don’t know I’m trying to ask the professionals so they can tell me.  I’m in my mid-50s they really don’t bother me. If I was in my 20s I would probably opt for surgery but judging by the amount of growth that I have and from what I’ve seen online I think I would be looking at a major procedure and If they’re not causing me a health issue then why operate?!

Finally…

Got in to see Endo, new labs drawn… more detailed than Urologist’s

Prolactin level elevated 3 ng/dl over normal

FSH is elevated 5 x over normal
LH is elevated 9 x over normal

But estradiol is at upper level of normal
E/T ratio is 16.9 ( using the last T value

A fractionated T level is still pending
Will recalculate E/T ratio when it is reported

Testicular US shows some abnormalities with no definitive Dx

Awaiting a callback from Endocrinologist

So,no explanation as to why I have large breasts yet
And the mystery continues …

At least the have progressed to an odd sensation rather than pain for last 8 months
