Well, I'll try to keep this as short as possible and to the point.

Four months ago I found a local plastic surgeon that claimed to be an expert in gyne surgery, and his photos were pretty impressive.

He claimed to do a lipo-only, but insisted he had a unique method that could remove breast tissue AND glands completely.  Before I saw the surgeon, one of his workers told me that he did not remove glands, but when I asked him, he assured me the glands would be removed.  I asked him how much of the tissue/glands would be removed, and he said EVERYTHING.  That's what I wanted to hear.

So I paid $6K, and by the next month, I went into the operating room.  Before the proceedure, I asked him again, "are you sure this technique is gonna remove everything" and he he said "yes."

I was under local anesthesia, but I was awake and although I was pretty out of it, I knew what was going on and I could see who was working on me.  During the whole proceedure, I saw the plastic surgeon for a very brief time; 5 minutes at most!  It was the physician's assistant that was performing the surgery.  I even asked the PA if he was the only one working on the proceedure (while being operated on), and he responded by telling me that he was just helping the plastic surgeon, and told me to go to sleep.

So I go home, and later I get a call from the physician's assistant.  He left a voicemail, stating who he was, and I don't know if he meant to say this or not, but he referred to himself as the one who performed the surgery; fishy, huh?  I wish I had saved it.

So when I finally remove my vest for the first time, I notice that left side is larger than the right, and that my nipples still protruded.  The size of my chest, however, was smaller; so I guess that's a plus.

So I go in for a post-op check up, and it's the PA that sees me.  He claims that the left side is bigger due to fluid and swelling, and that it will go down in size as time goes on.

I had some scar tissue early after surgery, but by massaging, it went away.

A month goes by, the results still don't look good, and I feel hardness under the nipple; gland that was never removed.

I told them I was upset that the glands were still there.  One PA tried to tell me it was muscle; YEAH RIGHT.  Another lady there told me it was connective tissue necessary for circulation; BS.  I know all this because I'm a student in the medical field.

So after months of BS treatment, I finally throw a fit and tell them I need some answers.  They finally let me talk to the plastic surgeon, and he wants to perform these proceedures that are ridiculous (particular diet, particular pills), and I'm pissed because I know this bullcrap isn't going to work.  Even a few people from his office have warned me against his after-surgery proceedures (of which I don't want to go into detail right now), so when he offered treatment, I refused saying that his own people have told me the side effects aren't worth the risk.  He gets really upset with his staff, and starts acting rude and strange with them.  It was a mess, man!  Very unprofessional.

The sad part is, he always treats me with respect; he's just full of BS!

I got really upset with him, and told him how ridiculous everything was, and I sensed he was getting the idea, and started to display how worried he was.  He offered a free revision, but I refused it due to lack of trust.

He wants me to come in for more massaging treatments, but I've had enough.  What are my options here?  Should I seek legal advice?  What would you guys do?

I can't let these people operate on me again!  The whole staff is completely dysfunctional.

Because I'm liable for all of this, I cannot state who the surgeon is at this time, and I don't want to go into too much detail in case this becomes a legal matter.  I hope you all understand.

Thanks for reading, and advice is appreciated.  At this time, my left side is still larger than the right, and there is still some breast tissue and glands in there.

My life is a mess :(

I am truly sorry to read of your story.  From what you say, you have every right to be upset.

I like most others on here can't really give you any legal advice, besides, I don't know which country you are from!

In the first instance, I would find a good lawyer that specialises in medical negligence cases and see if there is a case to answer to.

Clearly your expectations have not been managed.  However, free revision has been offered which seems to be in favour of the PS.  But your confidence has been knocked.

I guess it would all come down to what was agreed pre-op, what was agreed in writing and what short-fall there is between what was agreed and what was delivered.

Go get legal advice.

Best wishes.

Just to add to the good advice above.

Be very careful in selecting legal advice and do not sign anything until you know what the exact terms of that legal advice is- such as no win no fee etc.

The amount of times I have heard of people who have lurched from one crisis to another thanks to money grabbing lawyers is unbelievable.

Good luck.
