Title: Nurein
Post by: robirobi on August 03, 2018, 06:11:29 AM
Sorry I have to post this again as it looks like when you click on it it takes you to Dr. Nurein's page!
I was wondering if anyone had surgery done with Dr. Nurein? I have checked a few pages and I could find only one post.
What was your experience? Is he the only one that does it with local anaesthetic?

Hey

I'm booked in with Dr. Nurein in November. Went to Sheffield for consultation

Brilliant. It would be great to hear what your experience was like.

I will let you know how it goes.
Reviews look good on different sites. Technique is as expected.
I'm in the North West so they have offered surgery at Sheffield rather than the Harley Street, London offic.

Alright mate,

I had surgery last Tuesday, excision and lipo. Went great. I was the 4th and final patient of the day.

Stayed at Euston Square Hotel, got an Uber to Harley street with Blue, the patient coordinator. Great guy. Very calming.

Surgery was delayed for around an hour. No real issue. Met Dr. Nurein to get photos and markings ready for surgery. Pretty straight forward guy. No airs or graces. Didn’t bother me.

Went upstairs with nurse. Competed a few basic checks on me then into surgery!

It was surreal as you’d expect. Given local anaesthetic, waited a few minutes then straight in with lipo. Small incision below chest. Can barely see now, healed great. Like tiny scratches. Lipo was the most painful part. Really surreal feeling. With me being last patient, and because they were running quite far behind I’m not sure if he rushed a little and got on with it before LA took affect. Could be wrong. He frequently asked if I was ok. When I said it hurt, he’d change positions and come from a different angle.

Then onto excision of gland. Both quite small compared to some I’ve seen. Couldn’t feel a thing. Stitched up and done!

Dr. Nurein left room immediately and gave nurses job of aftercare. Girl put bandages on me and vest. Got another vest in care package which was handy.

Now 7 days out. Looking great. Lots of texts with Matthew and Blue. Face timing dr tomorrow. Every day get a survey via text message to fill in as part of aftercare.

Right breast is swollen and bruised (yellowish) left breast is flat. This is normal apparently. Vest worn 24/7 for 6 weeks aside from shower.

Cost - 4K

All of the pain, discomfort and soreness is worth it. Just get it done!

I have booked a consultation. So far I have been told that prices range from around £2,800 for one Gland excision, to £3,500 for both sides.  There are extra charges for sedation and Vaser Liposuction (if needed).

I have to admit that while the reviews are generally good for some reason I am not entirely convinced, I am not sure why to be honest!

As mentioned I'm booked in. The price is 3.5k for gland excision and 4k for both gland and vaser lipo.

I've seen a few good reviews for Hassan now on these forums and some other recognised places like trustpilot.
It sounds like it's actually the liposuction that causes the pain, and that gland removal is actually the easier part! Not what I would have though at all.
When you have the local in, can you not even feel the knife cut around the nipple? I have type 1 gyno (quite mild). I wasn't allowing myself to come to terms that it was mostly gland, as I assumed that would be the worst part. I might just see if I can run off the small pockets of fat and then simply have the glands removed.
Is the recovery quite mild for gland only? I work from home on a helpdesk so can sit most of the day which is quite lucky with regards to work.

Hi Guys,
so I had my surgery on Monday with Dr. Nurein...I've just taken the bandage off today and seen the results..
I was warned beforehand that it would be swollen and the results wouldn't be accurate until a few months but I have to say I'm a bit concerned as it seems like there's a lot of fat which has been left on there.
It does look a lot better than before but I can't say I'm completely happy yet!!!
As far as the pain the gland for me was the part which hurt the most as there wasn't enough local given initially but as soon as I told the doc he put more local in and the pain was gone.

Hope this helps.

Hey Kong,

If you could post your before and after shots that would be great. What does it feel like when they cut the nipple open and then start cutting the gland out? Do you even feel anything at all, or does it feel like a vibration/light pull?

Did you have lipo and gland removal? If lipo, is that done from the areola incision or do they still go in from the armpit? I've heard that with the levick armpit route, he shaves your pits which is meant to be horrible when it starts growing back lol.
Title: Re: Nurein
Post by: kingkongaintgotshitonme on September 29, 2018, 03:32:28 PM
So he did my lipo from the nipple incision I believe.
I had lipo and gland removal. I think with me they hadn't given me enough anesthetic so the gland removal on the first breast hurt quite a bit and I told him then he gave me more and no more pain... the lipo had tiny bits which stang but nothing major.
Overall I wouldn't worry about the pain at all... it's a small price to pay for what it is. But the worst part of the whole experience (I'm only 6 days in) is wearing the damn vest 24/7 ... and for the first three days u cant shower as you have a bandage on and it gets itchy...
I will be posting some pics but haven't really had a chance to take any yet.

Cheers for the update, much appreciated. Keep 'em coming. :)

I was thinking about videoing when I get it done so I could watch it for closure. I think it would really help me.

The incision for the gland on the nipple. I hear on one of his videos that it's only half a cm. I bet you don't even feel it do you?

To be fair 6 days on you might be still swollen from the procedure. I wouldn't worry if I was you yet. I believe he offers free revisions anyway. Of course you want things to be ok the first time around but at least you won't have to pay more if that happens.

I can only see one or two of his threads on here, but tons for the other usual guys like Karidis and Vijh. Lots of trust pilot reviews for him and he seems to be well recognised at events etc.

It's good to see the real results on here though with genuine before and after shots.

Mate, that's a massive difference and only a week out? Look at the shadow on the pre side pic, it was very pointy and now you have a masculine sculpted chest. You can be proud to push that our with a thin t-shirt. Just lift a ton of weights once you can.

What was the pain like the day after? The surgery itself is meant to be pain free but the day after is meant to be crap in some cases I've read.

Well, as per all the rest, rushed appointment and left wondering why I bothered taking a day off work. Constantly scrolling on the phone and looking down uninterested, even though I moved the appointment a few hours forward for them. Clearly wanted to dash off back to London and was mentally yawning.
My case is so mild that I only need a small bit of fat removing from in front of the glands, to give me a satisfactory reduction. I want to avoid nipple scars, long recovery, nerve damage, shooting pains etc.
I'm done with seeing people who say they care and take time to offer assurances. I'm just going to keep building upper chest muscle and lats until the skin pulls a little tighter and it just takes the the slight pointyness off.
As a final thought, in all fairness, the guys work and realistic price make him a great pick for people with major cases who can't live without getting it sorted.
Maybe I caught him on a busy day or some personal issues outside of work, but if you can't feel a genuine connection and feel rushed before money has exchanged, I wonder what it could be like with complications after money has been exchanged.

He was fine when I went for my consultation to be fair. He explained everything and did not try to sell anything hard. I even asked him a couple of question about the rest of his day and he seemed quite friendly. I mean, we all have bad days.
I am going with the fact that reviews are pretty good. While I would prefer a friendly and easy going person that wouldn't be the deciding factor to me.

I still believe he's a great pick if surgery is absolutely necessary and his price is at least realistic. You'll have a great outcome I'm sure.

There's absolutely no way I'd waste 5-6k for it. They're simply taking advantage of some peoples torture with the more prominent cases. It costs ~£3000 for a full car respray for example, and there's FAR more work and skill involved across 3-4 days.

Anyway, that's going slightly off topic. As a review of the guy, his practice is clean and work seems solid, it just infuriates me when people rush and clearly show signs they can't be arsed when someone has made a big effort to go see them. I expected a good 10-15mins and some back and forth. Getting back to London was clearly the priority on that day.

Very cool that you had the support of the Mrs and she knew.

When you say strange, how do you mean? Was it weird as in you could feel it happening but it was like twighlight/numb moving feeling? Was the Vaser or nipple incison the worst?

Brilliant. I am very happy for you. I will have mine done this month. Will post pictures when I do.

So was it sore or just uncomfortable? I am not bothered as long as it is not very sharp pain. I am fine with some discomfort.

It was uncomfortable tugging and prodding, it's such a weird feeling. Some parts did hurt but he then puts more anesthetic in which works straight away.

My blood pressure was really high before the procedure (they check your observations before it starts) but I felt relaxed which was strange.
They seem really busy, I was second person for surgery and there was a guy waiting after me.

Dr. Nurein was very nice and chatty can't have any complaints. I'm just hoping for a straight forward recovery.

I bet the London office is alot better than Sheffield. Sheffield was good but I would of liked to of seen the Hartley Street set up.
I've just taken my bandages off for the first time. Results are good even though I'm still a little swollen and yellow. I can safely say Dr. Nurein knows his way around a chest.

Glad you're getting the results you were after!
Did you get before and after shots and some of the glands? I'd probably set them on fire, lol.

Would you say the pulling and pain was from the lipo as opposed to the gland cutting? Any pain the day after or those shooting stinging pains that some say you get?

I didn't get any pictures because my phone was low on battery due to getting to Sheffield early.

The lipo and suction was defo the most uncomfortable bit, 4 minutes on each side. During the gland part he uses a burner thing to seal the skin, a few times that really hurt like sharp pain but then he puts more anesthetic in and it works instant. My left side hurt more than my right side during the procedure.

For hours after I was lifting my arms up and felt fine. Then it hit me just before bed time. Was very painful, manageable though. First night was really bad for sleep. But day two and three the pain has dropped off each day.

It's good to see an honest review rather than the usual suspect posts of "it doesn't hurt just do it". It sounds like you shouldn't have been moving your arms around pushing your body ;)

What type of gyno did you have? Mine has been classed as minor/type 1. If I avoid caffeine and drink turmeric, it's almost unnoticeable so I think I'm going to just leave it be and continue building muscle. I've got a gym at home now which makes a huge difference.

I'm genuinely really pleased for you. It must be great to think of it being in the past and I wish you a quick recovery. :-)

I was type 1 aswell but over the last few years I noticed it had got worst despite me being a regular runner, running three times a week.

The pain side shouldn't put anyone off the procedure, it's got to be worth it.

Were you given painkillers I guess?

Paracetamol and anti biotics. I only took the paracetamol for the first two days. Still sore to touch now but not if left alone

My appointment is in about 2 weeks and I am quite excited and a bit scared at this point even though I am aware it is very low risk.

Hello, I was wondering if you had to sleep upright after the procedure?

Post by: Ozorris on November 12, 2018, 04:20:28 PM
No don't have to sleep upright. I just couldn't go on my side. I can't sleep on my back so that's why I had a bad first night. I put some pillows under my feet to prevent blood clot but that's from reading stuff on here.

Is it this week?

I had surgery with Nurein on 25/10 in Sheffield so just over 3 works post surgery now. Like others have said he does seem like a very busy guy so he might not seem as personable as others. I too felt like my first meeting with him was overly brief but thought for his experience and the price he was worth going with. I'll try and post some before/after pictures soon. Happy to answer any questions.

That's great. Would be great to see some pictures. I will post as well as soon as I can. I am booked next week.

Were you sore for long afterwards? Were you able to move around and do stuff? I am off the whole week, a friend is helping afterwards but I don't want them to waste the whole week helping me!!

Soreness hit on the evening after surgery. As most people say it snot really an acute pain, just a dull soreness for a few days. It slowly gets better over maybe 4-5 days. My house-mate was helpful over the first few days as I couldn't reach high cupboards.

I had surgery on a Thursday and I took the Friday plus the whole next week off work. I work in an office and felt like I could've been back in work on the Wednesday or Thursday but it was nice to have a decent amount of time off!

Two before pics are attached and the two after were 2 weeks post-op.

I researched levick loads and then realised he retired lol

I'm coming up to 3 weeks recovery date this week. I can feel hard tissue forming in areas of my chest. Thankfully it hasn't changed shape to much, still slight swelling and tender.

Your consultation will be short and brief so don't expect much. I travelled 2 hours for a 10min appointment. Write down any questions and take them with you.

What does the doctor said about that?

Title: Re: Nurein

He said it's normal swelling. When I've researched recovery on here alot of people talk about hard areas that settle down. It looks like scar tissue is to early to form at this point.

Dr. Nurein told me on consultation that he can inject to help scar tissue later down the line.

Overall I'm not to worried, shape of my chest is alot better.

Hello, I had the procedure done today. The feeling is really odd but not painful at all. I am now a bit sore but it is bearable. The anaesthetic was starting to wear off so I took the paracetamol they gave me and I am not much better. It is all very tender but not really painful. I will post pictures when I can. I am taking off the bandage on Friday so maybe then.

Thanks.

So far so good. I was just bleeding a bit from one of the lipo ‘holes’ but I assume it has stopped now. I will check again later and make contact with the doctor if still bleeding. I was asked to send a picture if it does. I have a fairly small dressing in it and only half of it is red so I assume I am not bleeding profusely otherwise it would be soaked. No pain after almost 24 hours. I do feel tender but no real pain.

Here are my before after pictures. The lighting in my bathroom is rubbish so they don't look great.
I got my surgery only 4 days ago so I am fairly pleased with the results. I am not athletic at all and that's not gonna change anytime soon so I am pleased so far. It is still a long way to go to heal completely so I am just hoping I don't have any complications. So far so good, just a little tender but I am not even taking painkillers anymore.

Hello,
I had both lipo and gland removal. Today is day 6 and other than the vest being annoying I am ok. A little tender but fine. I will remove the dressings on my nipples today. I hope not to be grossed out. I have changed the dressing once before and they look still 'raw'. They should be healing now I guess! Fun fact, my nips were slightly oval before now are kind of round.

That's great. So far so good. I am still a bit bruised but I am ok.
I was told I am still a bit swollen but even if it was going to stay as it is now it would be a major improvement.
How did the consultation go?

I felt the same after two weeks. Was still sore and tender.

Hello, just a quick update from me.
I am not sure whether or not people are interested but I always found people sharing their experience very useful so I want to give back a bit.
It has been a month now and I am in no pain at all. Nipples feel a bit sensitive and I can feel them kind of bouncing when walking. I decided to keep my vest on for longer as it is simply more comfortable than being without. I will try to increase the time I am not wearing a vest as I have the feeling that is just a matter of getting used again to the fact that clothes do rub against nipples! :-) It is also a bit psychological I guess!
My nipples look a bit wonky but I think is still early days. Not freaky though. I assume they will improve but even if there were to stay as they are it wouldn't be a major issue.
I am not completely flat but the doctor said it is still early days. I look fine with t shirts though so it is definitely a major improvement. I think I am still very slightly swollen!
The scars are still visible but they are quite small and I assume they will improve with time.
While I am now 4k poorer I think it was good that I went for it. Sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and I have little bursts of happiness! :-) It is also cool to do stuff that I was not able to do before like shopping online without having to worry about too much or simply wearing a t shirt rather than an heavy Oxford shirt to disguise my chest!
This is all from me, if anyone has any question I would be happy to answer them.

Huge positive difference in my chest and I can’t wait to see the end results. Looking forward to getting back to the gym. I’m back with the dr on Thursday. Are you allowed to take pictures of the glad that's been removed?  Also, how far is the clinic from the underground, would you be okay to walk after surgery...I don't have anyone to take me so would travel alone all the way from the outskirts of London and have concerns about the train journey home...

I was looking at the maps and it looks like Regent's Park Underground Station is the easiest stop to get off from and then walk to Harley St – would you say that’s the easiest station to get to the clinic from, Oxford Circus seems like a fair distance and complicated in terms of the route by foot..don’t really go into Central London so not too familiar with which is the best option.

Thanks!:)

Hi All been a while... thought id post an update and i have some worries!!

I went back for a redo with the surgeon as I thought my shape was too pointy and not enough had been done.

this was a week ago and i was told it was just a simple lipo and little bit of fat removal so no need to wear a compression vest. I have HUGE ammounts of hard lumps on my right hand side and indentation aswell.. its not horrible but it is there... im quite worried about the huge ammounts of hard lumps especially as I think its making the shape weird and the indentation is definately not helping..

its not done much improvement in terms of getting rid of the pointiness as of yet either if im honest.

Any ideas why such huge lumps and did anyone else experience this??

thanks

It sounds like scar tissue mate. Wouldn't worry about it too much as once you can massage the area you will be able to break it down. Can take a bit of time though.

Had my surgery today. Anybody else find the bandaging really tight? 3 days of this to look forward to.

I am surprised how much tissue was removed, I got see it afterwards. The nipple was looking compressed before the bandage went on compared to the rest of my chest, is this normal?

Will update with pics probably when the bandages come off.

Mine was really tight but it’s right for a reason so just went with it, didn’t notice it as much the following day, I wouldn’t worry about your nipple they tend to sort themselves out, a few months and you will feel fantastic 👍

Not sure if anyone still follows this thread, but I had my consultation last Saturday. Made the 40 minute train journey from North London, was quite anxious about not being late that I arrived with 20 minutes to kill.

Finally went to the building, was greeted by a friendly lady at reception, confirmed by name and was handed a form to complete in the waiting room.

I waited around 30 minutes to be seen, I guess they were running late, didn’t really bother me. I was called in to see <a class="underlinelink" href="https://www.gynecomastia.org/doctors/dr-hassan-nurein/profile">Dr. Nurein[/url]. As others have said, very professional man, apologised for my wait, shook my hand and had a brief chat about my gyno. He goes through the form you filled in before the consultation and asks about your gyno i.e. how long have you had it, what have you tried to get rid of if (i.e. diet, exercise etc) and goes through your medical info.

After, you're asked to show the goods....there's a separate area where you can take your top off and he looks to see if you're suitable. He mentioned having glad removal, I asked about Lipo around my pectoral as there’s a bit of fat, I was told the fat was minimum and that I could get away it... I asked if he recommended getting lipo and was told it depends what I wanted to achieve, was told lipo would give a more defined look.

At no point was I given the hard sell and I feel he’s the right man to go with, especially after reading this thread.  Was given two prices, £4,250.00 or £3,750.00 without Vaser Lipo and have already asked for dates in Dec / Jan19.

The only thing I’m unsure about is of I should get the lipo, I asked what grade of gyno I had and was told 1b.
Going to have a think but will definitely book the surgery date at least.

Hi guys,

I gave had a very brief video consultation with Dr. Nurein, he had my photos in advance. He seemed like a lovely guy and it seems he has specialist expertise in this area.

I get so, so tempted to go ahead - especially as I literally live within walking distance of the Sheffield clinic. I know this significantly reduces the costs and inconvenience. However, with young kids and not a lot of spare cash I struggle to justify the outlay of 4k. I also know that my partner would not understand or see why I want my puffy nipples gone, why it might stop me hunching over and bring round shouldered, how it might boost my self confidence and self esteem.

I'm not naive - I know that the shape of my nipples and them showing through clothes isn't THE trigger for depression/anxieties...but it's definitely part of the tapestry. I'm 40 soon...still vividly remember the night aged around 13 when my chest got tender and these 'tubey' puffy nipples seemed to sprout. It is starting to feel a bit 'now or never' if it is going to be worth doing.
