Hey everyone im 20 and I found this site a year ago but I just decided to join it. I had Gynecomastia since i was 13 and been trying to hide it ever since. Dealt with all the crap that comes with gynecomastia i dont even think my back is straight any more because of year of hunching over. I am seriously considering surgery because I can not take living like this any more the baggy clothes and lck of self esteem. any ways how do i got about it? what do i say to my doctor? Does he have to recommend surgery? And if i want surgery how long is the waiting list? If any one cn help it would be great... it feels better to finally get that off my chest :D lol. Thanks

Way to go on making the first step.  Its tough to start talking about it.  And that really was the hardest part for me.  Once I saw the doctor and got the money situation figured out, it took less than a month for me to get the surgery done.  I'm recovering right now actually.  I didn't go to a general doc.  I went on the internet and found the nearest plastic surgery center and started there.  If you can, ask around to see if you can find a respected one.  You don't need to be referred from your family doctor.  At least, I've never heard of that being necessary.  If you have any questions, just ask.  I just went through the whole procedure and everything is pretty fresh in my mind.  Good luck man!

what he said.  you want a specialist, not a general surgeon.  make sure he's thoroughly experienced at gyne if at all possible.
* a man is more than a body will ever tell
* if it screws up your life the same, is there really any such thing as "mild" gyne?
