Every surgeon has their own recommendations for resuming exercise following gyne surgery and every patient heals at a different rate, so your healing progress must be taken into consideration and recommendations adjusted accordingly.
My protocol is more conservative - If my patient is healing as expected, I let them start exercising at 2 weeks post-op with non-impact cardio and light weights (not chest area). Eight weeks post-op they can begin working out on their chest and can return to impact/cardio activities ( running, etc).
If you feel any discomfort in your breasts. during or after your workout, your body is telling you you're doing too much. Swelling will delay your recovery and may cause other problems. Listen to your body. You want to avoid tension or strain on your chest, so your incisions heal properly.
