Hi guys, I am 22yo and has had the problem for about 5 years already. Because of it, I have to swim only when there is no one around and always wear a jacket to hide it. I would feel embarrassed and hardly ever take off my shirt in front of other people.

So now I am considering a surgery and would like to know whether the cost will be lower based on my condition and how long roughly does it take to recover.
Or is there other way to get rid of it without taking up surgery??

Comments and suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm sure your self consciousness is real, but, you really have absolutely NOTHING to be self conscious about. Really. If your body was a woman's, she would be diagnosed with having a condition where she has a chest like a man's. You DO NOT have gynecomastia.

I'd suggest trying to avoid surgery for now. Just try getting some muscle on your chest and what not and I'm sure it'll look better. I think surgery for you would be a waste of money...sure it'll look flatter but still...acouple grand for your condition just isnt worth it. Like I said, start trying to get some muscle :].

may be I am too self conscious? I m not sure... but I hate it when my nipple sticks out. I have to bend my shoulder most of the time to avoid it.
Also, does surgery cost vary based on the condition of it?

by the way, thanks for all your comments

It's all relative...

Your case is pretty slight, but you look like you have gynecomastia. Working out might help you tone up overall, but if you've been self-conscious about it for this long, you might want to get surgery.

I think posting photos online can be deceptive. Lighting, camera angle, focus, exposure can all mask an ugly counter.

Has anyone ever pointed it out to you before? Stared at your chest? Cracked a joke? That can serve as something of a litmus test...

Mayb 1 or 2 of my friends told me that i might have the problem before, but no one has ever really laugh or joke about it, I guess it because not a lot of them has seen me without my shirt.

and yea if only I have a chest like his  :-[

yeah its seriously minor, its made more apparent because you've got quite a small frame, maybe some bodybuilding would give you a better appearance working on your shoulders and arms!

If i was in your shoes i wouldn't get the surgery

1/ costs
2/ risk's involved
3/ its really not bad!

There is only one way to a chest like david beckham's and in your case it is to put on some muscle mass.  I would start off by eating healthily and lifting weights 4 times a week, concentrating on one or two muscle groups per day.  You will see the most improvements from a plan like this.  I was never really into looking at him shirtless or at all but I just googled a pic of him.  He has a baby chest man, put on some muscle and in no time you will be bigger than him.

Here is a example of a workout program to try, this is what I am on now

This is the plan I am starting in 3 weeks, should see some good gains from it as well, the site is free and the plan is free just register.
