I've tried using the search function, but I could not find any conclusive answers. I'd like to know if gynecomastia can come back if the entire gland is removed. I know that doing so could/probably will leave some sort of crater, but with my luck, it'd probably come back.

All answers are much appreciated!

In the most general circumstances, the answer is "no" -- it would not return.

Thank you for your response. I've been doing some research, and I read that gynecomastia sort of burrows itself deep within the fat, so would complete removal even be possible, without liposuction of that area?

First gynecomastia correction is not a cancer operation. The entire gland is not removed. To remove the entire gland requires removal of the nipple and areola. The overwhelming majority ,99%, of the gland is removed at surgery. The chance of recurrence for most cases is essentially 0 .

Glands do not grow back. If it is not completely removed it may appear to return. Fat can return slightly which can also give the impression that the gynecomastia has returned. You should not get a crated deformity if the gynecomastia correction is done well.
