Is Sodium on it's own salt? I always thought that NaCl (sodium chloride) was salt. Or is NaCl the stuff that we know as 'table salt'?

TIA...

I wish i knew more. but here is what i know.
Sodium on its own is not salt. It is actually dangerously reactive and could do serious harm to your body. When they say "Sodium" on the label, I believe they actually mean "Sodium Ion" (because of the Sodium atom has bonded to the Chlorine which balances out the charges, making it not reactive like pure sodium.)
NaCl is common salt, usually with some iodine added to it too.
