i'm going in for surgery in a few weeks with a doctor in a suburb of Chicago. his name is Dr. Jona and he is apart of Northwestern. his title is pediatric surgeon.

i'm 17, and i was reccommended to him by an endocrinologist in chicago. i have a moderate case of gyne that i absolutely need to be corrected.

however, dr. jona says that he does not do lipo. he makes an excession around the nipple and removes some of the glandular tissue. i've never heard of another way of removing gyne other than lipo. i'm feeling a little bit uneasy about this, but him being apart of northwestern makes me a little bit more comfortable.

he says that he has his patients wear a band around their chest for around 10 days post-op.

another thing that struck me as odd was how expensive the surgery is. it was totaled at around $16,000. however, our insurance covered the majority of it.

has anyone heard of this kind of surgery? am i just being paranoid?

thanks,
marcus
