Hello, new user here. I'm 25 and I've had 'man boobs' since I was about 13 years old. For most of that time, I was 200+ lbs, peaking somewhere in the 240's (size 42 waist) where I remained at that weight for most of college. Last fall, I got serious about weight loss and dropped down to 190lbs (size 33 waist). The weight loss and strength training didn't do a whole lot to shrink the moobs, in fact it made them look more pronounced relative to the rest of my body.

So that's why I'm here. I'm wondering what the next should be. Of course, I could lost another 40 pounds, get down to something like 150lbs.. but how much of an effect can I expect that to have on the moobs?

For any doctors that might read this, here's a possibly relevant medical background: I didn't go through puberty normally. When I was about 13 or 14 I was sent to an endocrinologist who put me on regular injections of testosterone to get me started. I was diagnosed with hypogonadism, but they ruled out Kleinfelter's. A year or two later everything seemed normal, so they pulled me off the injections. I saw another specialist who said I didn't actually hypogonadism, the hormonal imbalance was probably just caused by being fat. Since then, I haven't had another blood count done on the hormones, so I don't know if I'm normal or not. I developed a lot of stretch marks while I was fat. You can see the ones on my stomach on the front, on both hips, along the insides of my arms, and very oddly, I have huge ones along the right side of my torso under my arms (but none under the left).

The pictures I attached below are of me at ~190lbs (I'm 6'1"). The second picture shows how I look normally when I get back from the gym. I usually lose 3-6lbs after 1hr of bike riding and my moobs shrink considerably. After a big meal, the opposite happens: they swell up even larger than the first picture.

Hello friend. It is moobs. Surgery may bring you confidence to wear T Shirts and go out even bare body. I am planning to do it in Lakeshore next month.

First, you should have an up to date hormonal evaluation.  then you need a genetic test for Klinefelter's (a distinct possibility).

Finally, if all is normal/stable, you might consider surgery because additional weight loss will not significantly decrease the size of your gyne.

Dr. Jacobs,

Thank you for the response. I'm fairly certain that they tested for Klinefelter's back when I was a teenager and ruled it out. I will definitely talk to my doctor about getting a current hormonal evaluation though.

Don't let your chest impede your weight loss progress.
