Still have hard lump behind nipple after 3 months. Hoping its scar tissue and it will go away. See my doctor tomorrow so will hopefully have more info. Any thoughts? Saw the surgeon and got told that he thinks it looks good and better and that's about as good as we will have and that he doesn't see a need for revision. What do you think?

If your areolas were originally flat and flush with the surrounding skin after surgery, then your situation is most likely due to the development of scar tissue, which is not uncommon (particularly at 3 months post op).

Very rarely is revision needed.  In fact, if you perform revision surgery to remove scar tissue, then in all likelihood, you will heal with.....more scar tissue.

Scar tissue may soften and settle down with time -- but often it may require an injection of cortisone.  You might inquire of your surgeon about this.

Good luck!
