I just turned 18.  I have lost 45 pounds over the course of like 3-5 months, I was 200 pounds and got to 155 now im up to 160 with more muscle because I ran that 45 pounds off and lost a lot of muscle.  My problem is that my chest looks horrible! from the front its ok and from the side its alright but from like the side front view my pecs seem pointy and stuck out.
There is a small rubbery like thing under my nipple not attached to it I don't think nut under it.  It does not hurt but I was wandering if its gyno or fat?  Last time I checked my bf percent it said 20% thats when these pics where taken in like august then I bought a bf scale and took it again in early october and it said 16% so I took it back, I thought it was broke lol.  I do look fitter because I'v been  working out everyday but my pecs still point out.  Do you have to have a low bf% for them to be flatter or point down kind of.  Any way what do ya think it is? Ill put updated pics up of me now in a little.  thanks

doesnt' seem too bad to me. But in my opinion you've got some gland under there.

you're similar to what I had, I just had more of a pronounced protrusion of the nip due to the gland.

You've done a great job getting in shape, you're very fit. I honestly wouldn't notice if I were to see you at a beach or whatever.

If it bugs you every second of every day, then perhaps undergoing a gland excision procedure would ease your mind.

honestly tho man, that's like a 3 on a scale of 10.

thanks man,  It does really bother me I wish my nipple could be flatter.  What does a gland excision cost?

Not a very serious case but there is some gland in there. I'd put your gyne at 2 on a 10 scale.
I know what you feel mate but you know that your gyne is not that bad. If I saw you at the beach, I would not notice your gyne at first sight, honestly... Of course, looking closer at it one can see the gyne but nothing bad as said before

It could but do not hope for that... In a very few case it disappears but as I told you on my last post, your gyne looks glandular, so the only solution would be surgery for that.
Now, as I've also told you, your gyne is not very serious, it is a mild case. You're 18, you're young... If I were you, I would wait and see how it develops. In 2 years, or 3, you can do what you need to do if there is something to do (blood test, consultation with a PS...).
I hope you can find help on that forum, please feel free to ask more questions. Cheers

I have a bunch more photo's, taken from today.  It doesn't really look that different from the august pics but I do have more muscle so it helped it a little. I just hate that damn front side view (picture number 1, 5, and the last one) its the reason im complaining.   Is there any supplements or herbs that might help it because you are all saying it's a little case of gyno and I saw a few people are taking stuff.  Also what would it feel like if I did not have any gyno, would I still feel rubbery fat in my chest? or would it just be like blubbery because my mom said "no you don't have gyno".  Next time I go to the doctors im asking him.

Those herb remedies that you see out there simply don't work.  Don't waste your time and money on them.  I've seen many posts on these boards by people who've tried all those things and not once have I seen a success story.

Your mom can not possibly tell that you don't have gyne.  Family members, especially parents, tend to say things to make you feel better about yourself.  It's a difficult topic for a parent so to deny that you have it is a typical initial parental response.

For that matter, it's impossible for even a surgeon to determine how much gland or fat is responsible for the gyne.  So much more difficult would it be for a parent to judge.

Finally, general practicioners for the most part don't understand gynecomastia and will sometimes not recognize it for what it is.  They also seem to avoid referring sufferers to qualified specialists for further evaluation.  Do yourself a favor and bypass the G.P. in favor of going straight to an endocrinologist to check for hormone imbalances.  Then go to a plastic surgeon after the hormones are determined to be in order.

thank you for saving me some money 8)  and what will an  endocrinologist do and how much will that cost.  I don't really want surgery, especially now.  Hoping it will go away or not be noticable by the time im 20 but if not then I will get surgery but should I still go to a plastic surgen?

First I want to correct something I just noticed about my earlier post:   I meant to say it's impossible for a surgeon to know how much gland and fat there is UNTIL you are in surgery.  The point is that nobody can really tell just by looking at you how much of your gyne is caused by gland and how much is just fat.

An endo will look at your hormone levels to see if there are any imbalances.  Hormone imbalances during puberty are generally the root cause of gyne.  The hormones usually balance out eventually, but not for everyone.  If you get surgery and your hormones are still out of whack, then you may see the gyne come back.  Your plan of waiting until you're 20 for surgery is a good one.  Now would be a good time for you to be checking out your hormones so that when 20 comes around any imbalances will have already been corrected.  That's a simplified explanation, but there are others on here, such as Hypo-is-here, who could give you very precise details on what to expect from an endocrynologist, as well as what to look for when choosing one.

That being said, if you still have the gyne after several years you can pretty much be certain it won't be going away on its own.  A plastic surgeon will be your next step.  Don't be scammed by these "snake oils" that are really just diet pills and don't work.  Losing weight won't get rid of gland.  You may lose fat all over your body except the chest.  Working out can just build muscle under the gland and make it more visible.  If you've been hard wired for gynecomastia, removal of the gland tissue and surrounding fat cells is the only way to truly be rid of it.

in my ever so humble opinion---you have a little glandular tissue there. you need exicision to remove it and no, it won't go away on its own. just my 2 cents. best of luck.

the average is anywhere from $2800-$6000. my operation, which was glandular excision, cost me a total of around $4400.  and yes, i was put under. some docs use a local anesthesia with a sedative but my doc (and the majority, i believe) give you general anesthesia (which means putting you under). i was in and out of the place in 3 or 4 hours.

best of luck.

I made a thread on bodybuilding.com about this and put pics up and everyone there is saying it's just fat and the last part to go will be your chest and stomach.  I do have a lot of fat on my stomach only when I bend forward.  Also what should it really feel like under my nipple?  What does it feel like without gyne, and what should it feel like with it, Please be really specific.
