Title: Fat or Gyne?
Post by: VHDude78 on March 13, 2012, 11:06:55 PM
Ever since my puberty stages I developed puffy nipples. I was always a tad or weight so I figured that was related. I started weight lifting at the age of 20 and started going on high calorie diets. I started noticing breast enlargement but I figure it was from weight lifting. Over the years it slowly progressed. I seemed to get worse when I started taking melatonin took that for two years. I still maintained a high calorie diet that wasn't always clean. About a year ago I realized that I could have gyne and I had to see a doctor. I saw my doctor and he didn't seem to overly concerned. We went through a couple rounds of blood test and he referred me to a endocrinologist. My blood was fine. The endocrinologist ordered another round of blood test and felt the tissue. He said, "You're probably fine..you don't have anything to worry about." He told me if it was real estrogen I wouldn't have hair on my chest. He wanted me to get a mammogram just to be safe. The radiologist told me the mammogram turned up fine. They didn't see anything abnormal and that it was fine. I'm seeing the endocrinologist in a month and seeing my primary the following month. I'm 6'0 225 at 24. I'm starting to cut my calories and doing more cardio exercises. I've lost a bit of weight and the tissue seems to be going down a little..but not much. The tissue is still present. Is it just fat tissue or do I have another form of gyne?

Also-My left nipple seems to be harder than the right but looks MUCH better than the right. The right seems to stick out more but is really soft. I'm just confused as to what is really wrong. I'm a just over sensitive to high calorie diets? Over sensitive to carbs or saturated fats? Was I at one time in the first stages of developing gyne and it stopped? The radiologist told me he didn't see any unusual growth and told me I was fine. I'm just really frustrated dealing with this ??? :-\ >:( Any help is appreciated!

Yes.

All men have some glandular breast tissue and all men have some fatty tissue between the skin and muscle in the breast area. A surplus of either would be called Gynecomastia as the term is presently used.

Thanks Paa_Paw. So can this be cured by diet and exercise if the radiologist told me everything was fine?
