 Hi, would like to know what the timeline is for the onset of scar tissue post surgery? Thanks

The body heals naturally from surgery with scar tissue.  It can build up very gradually and oftentimes there is more on one side than the other.  The average time is 4-12 weeks after surgery -- but there is great variability. 

Sometimes there can be just some swelling of the tissues, which can be firm and can mimic scar tissue.  Thus, I usually reserve several months at least before I consider treating scar tissue.

 Thank you so much for responding. It helps me to figure out what is going on with my case. Going to see my PS tomorrow about a lump I've had  since week one post op.
