In my experience, most post op patients can return to sedentary type of work (or school) within 3 days or so after surgery.  That means desk work, on the computer, sitting in class, etc.

I would strongly advise against return to heavy, labor-intensive jobs for a minimum of 2-3 weeks after this type of surgery.

Good luck!

5-6 days should be totally fine. You won't be totally comfortable yet, but it should be more than bearable.
