I am  6'7''   290,  down from 305 lbs. I have really  been working out hard  this past  10  months about , I was a  couch potato  and I decided to  change my life around. I stopped nicotine,   booze,  pornography  vewing, and  other habits  25 months ago.
My work out is 25 minutes on eliptical of full  tension, and 15 minutes of weights. A  steady 40- 50 minutes   at least  5 nightrs  a week. I do 100 sit ups also.
When I started  I could do 5 minutes on eliptical, 10 situps etc, sorry out of shape.
My point is a changed my whole life,  loosing  weight to prepare to get puffy  nipples reduced, but I just realize I eat like a pig  .
Yesterday  menu,  I wrote it down
left house with   orange and  banana, water and diet dr pepper.
at 10 am work break I went to 7 11 get 2   spicy beef patties,   chips  diet cherry pepsi,  diet dr pepper,  bottled water.,
Snacked on starburst candy, m and ms ,   and water and gatorade for lunch.

Home  a   4 pm, ate  1/4  stick of cracker barrell sharp  cheese, crackers and mustard, water

dinner,  steak, salad,  bread and butter water, 1.2 a  soda diet.

ice cream  cone , and hard  dough  pretzels  at 9 pm

is  there any wonder I have fat on me?   I cant believe  what I eat. I crave  crappy foods

all of the foods you are describing are addictive and excessive. i think you need to detox from these foods somewhat before u stop craving them so much but what effectively happens is once u stop eating these foods every day your body will adjust and you will no longer be able to eat so much of these foods they will taste stronger and make u feel sick. i think you need to stop going to 7-11s they are a place where u are making quick decisions about what your eating and that impulsive selection of food is addictive in itself. you should take food from home that is filling yet lower in fats and sugars. then remember to eat that first before even considering buying extras. you need to take steps that are realistic and achievable, im concerned that giving up booze and pornography etc it sounds like you are setting yourself up for failure as we all do these things sometimes and thats completely normal, its good for u to detox from excessive behaviors but you wont last long if  you don't replace the good feeling you get from those behaviors with a new one.

Manic, thanks for your reply
the booze and nicitine I gave up 2 years ago, I replaced with exercise so far so good there. I had  horrible  detox from those two  substances, the nicotine is a bear to give up.
I never thought as  giving up junk food as a detox. Your are correct. I do not know if I have  enough wits to  go through  another detox  right now.
I am  on auto pilot, I go  to  my truck  go to 7 11 , buy  junk food without thinking  about, then  I regret it afterwords.
Those   poor  snack junk foods give a  quick mental boost  I think.

How  are you  so knowledgeable on this,? you describe  things well

what is your feeling on diet sodas?

ive researched quite a bit about diet in the past and lost 10kg when i was in highschool then gained some more (mostly due to not getting the body i wanted because of gyne) then about a year or so ago i lost 15kg  going to the gym and improving diet, ive gained a bit back but that was really too light for me and ppl were telling me i looked sick. ill be back in the gym gaining muscle as soon as ive finished recovery from surgery. i have never really drunk much soda as my parents never bought it, sodas are addictive due to the caffeine and sugar. once you stop drinking them as often you wont miss them so much, i go to a friends house and they have a fridge full of it (and beer) and every other drink is soda for them, its habitual and i notice the foods they eat are all rich in flavor and they do not appreciate foods that i like (ie lower fat spicy foods lean meat, vegetables and salads) as they are addicted to the strong flavors like sugar and cheese. anyway back to the question diet soda i don't believe is any better than regular soda, if i drink soda i go for the regular stuff, aside from the aspartame content, its generally considered to be just as bad diet wise (and tastes awful)
its my experience that eating well is more of a mental issue, with cravings you have strong urge to get a boost immediately, i usually eat what i think i should eat and tell myself i can always eat what i wanted after if im still hungry usually by this point im over it and the edge being taken off my hunger allows me to  reason if its really worth the time it will take to burn off. having said all that its important to remember that you have to have the things you want sometimes, its just a matter of keeping track of how often and the portion size makes a difference.

woohoo! lol
diet is the most important thing when it comes to diet and excercise and even small improvements make a big difference. my theory on diet and excercise is just to progressively do better than you have previously.. so its great u have made some changes and are seeing results. after a while this will become normal and you may identify something else u can do without (with less of) remember its important to still eat the things you like from time to time but nowadays i might pig out occasionally with something like a cheeseburger instead of a quarter pounder or a small slice of chocolate cake on a bday instead of a large one.

I recommend the E-book Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto. It really helped me trim down last summer. I have heard good things about Zone, so you might give that a look as well.
