Hi doctors. I am wondering if I undergo gynecomastia surgery would I need the huge incisions at the bottom of the chest that leave terrible scars, or would the simple aerola incision be enough?

Also, I am wondering (and I know it differs) what payment options you have for this surgery, if any? And roughly how much would the cost be, if you can judge from the terrible pictures.

Thanks in advance.

I do not typically use incision under the breast. The issue in your case is skin contraction after surgery.

I assumed that skin contraction would be a major problem, but I was hoping since I am 16 it would help a little. Thanks for the reply.

You are asymmetric, droopy and overweight.  Truly, the only thing you have going for you (as far as skin elasticity is concerned) is your youth -- and even that has been compromised by being overweight.

In my experience, it is doubtful you skin would tighten totally.  In cases I have done similar to you, I have actually done a minimal scar surgery and then given it 6-8 months for the skin to tighten.  And it will tighten -- but we do not know to what extent.  Then we re-evaluate and see if any additional skin tightening is necessary or not.  If so, there would be less skin to tighten and therefore smaller scars.

I have had some teens who elected not to have the second skin tightening -- but then worked out and matured and built muscle -- and the muscle bulk then took up the slack of the skin.

There is hope!!

Alright. I understand. The procedure you mentioned seems very reasonable given my circumstances. I used to weight lift dedicatedly at a school gym while wearing a compression vest but it was discovered, so I was too embarrassed to go back :-[. If I do undergo this surgery, I will start to workout passionately again to build up muscle in my chest, and hopefully not undergo a second surgery. :)

Thanks. I appreciate your honest reply.
