Was just wondering, is there any type of foods, drinks, or vitamins I can increase in my diet to speed up recovery after surgery? I am 5 weeks post op. Also, when can I use creams on my scars and what types of creams?

I don't smoke, so i'm not worried about anything like that interfering with recovery.

A balanced diet is best.  Vitamin C, zinc and protein are certainly valuable for wound healing.  Scar creams can be useful, though not necessary in most cases.  The only ones I find to be effective contain silicone gel, either in a sheet or as an "ointment."

Perfect, i've been taking a lot of vitamin C and zinc. Just started taking vitamin E last week because I was instructed to wait at least 3 weeks after surgery to do so. I was also thinking about starting to take fish oil again but I was a little worried it might cause bleeding or more swelling. Thank you for the input Dr. Silverman I appreciate it.
