Hypothetical question. Let's say a male undergoes gynecomastia excision surgery at a body fat of 15 percent and is pleased with the results. There are no craters or obvious deformities and the contour of the chest is great.

Some time down the road, this individual lowers his body fat to, let's say, 10 percent (as an example).

Would it be possible, with the loss in body fat, that a crater deformity that was otherwise "masked" or "filled out" at a higher body fat could be revealed and become visible at a lower body fat?

Thanks!

The hypothesis is incorrect.

I prefer to operate on individuals at their typical weight not the lowest weight they can obtain. If the patient after surgery loses weight it only improves the final result.Your question is not that uncommon.

Weight loss will typically improve the appearance of the end result.  Weight gain after surgery can lead to a deformity depending on the adequacy of liposuction done at the time of the initial resection. That's why it's preferable to do the surgery at the normal weight of a patient, rather than at a dieted down weight that might be difficult to maintain.
