Hi,
I am 21 yrs old and 6 ft 1 inch with a weight of 102 kgs or 225lbs. I'm not sure if what I have is due to the breast tissue or fat. My BMR is 29.7 so yes I am overweight too. Is there any way I can tell it if it's gyno or not?

Hi,
Thanks for replying I've posted pictures in the user photos column under the same title "Gyno or Lipo". If you could please have a look at that, and tell me what's going on that would be very helpful.
Thanks.

Yes, you have gynecomastia and are overweight as well.  You can diet and lose weight -- but there will most likely be some residual excess tissue left on your chest.

Do your homework and consult with a gyne specialist in your area -- he can go over the pros and cons of doing surgery -- at this weight or a lower weight.

I agree with Dr. Jacobs.  You do have gynecomastia, which might improve with weight loss, but I suspect you will still have some residual gynecomastia even when you're leaner.  You may be able to get to a point that doesn't bother you, but if you decide to have surgery, take the time to find a good gynecomastia surgeon to get the best result.
