Question
I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and I've noticed that my surgeon left a small layer of hard tissue under my nipple (there was a lot more of hard tissue before). He told me the reason was to prevent a "hole" forming between the nipple and the muscle and to insure that the skin of the nipple remains healthy. Is that common practice?

it is, to prevent a cratering effect, but it's not that popular with the patients.  normally you'd hope they would disclose this plan in advance.

You're sure it's gland and not scar tissue?
