Is okay to wear a compression vest before surgery?  As most of you will know, summer is a terrible time to have the big G, and I'd like to wear a shirt or t-shirt without feeling uncomfortable.

Any comments or thoughts would be apprecaited.

Cheers.

Euro Surgical Limited do them in the UK. 01483 456007. Design #640 is recommended for gyne; I just paid £116.33 for two including P&P and VAT.

Underworks is your best bet, i bought 2 last year before my op, as the NHS dont provide them, and @ UKchap, i wore mine ALL the time before my op. Cost about £30 for both, and arrived in less than a week.

.

Bl**dy hell, you could nearly have one side of gyne reduction for that price :o :o :o.
Why is the uk so damn expensive for everything?

But "one side of gyne reduction"? Yeuh, no thanks, I'll stick with a side of fries thanks!  ;D

I ordered one from Underworks last week and it arrived this morning.  It cost around $58 which translates to around £30.  This is still cheaper than the nearest UK equivalent I could find, which was £45, plus p&P.  Anyhow, I put it on and it was shocking to see how different I look (can't wait until surgery). I'll it take for a test-drive tomorrow.

Thanks to you all for your input and help with this.

The vests are VERY subtle, and very leightweight......you will get away with wearing it unnoticed, unless you were to wear a VERY tight/thin top...

I have an Underworks vest (the double one, e-bay, tenner!!)

I am under a week post op with Scottish NHS but some of the tubigrips they have given me are more supportive and comfortable than the compression vest!!!!

I have pics of my op (3 days post) and get the stitches out tomorrow.

I tried on a bunch of t-shirts and shirts as it's a novelty too see how I'd look without man boobs.   I have a flimsy white t-shirt  that is almost transparent and you can see the vest under it.  Other than that it couldn't be seen under any of my other clothes.
