Hey guys. I had surgery in Rhode Island 5 days ago and all seems well. When it was over the Dr explained to me that my chest is under local anestesia and will be numb for some time. Feeling is coming back slowly but im curious to how long it will remain numb. Thanks for any input

The numbness is not due to the use of local anesthesia -- it is the direct result of small nerve fibers being temporarily interrupted during the course of the operation.  There is 100% numbness of the skin and nipples after gyne surgery.  and usually, the feeling returns -- but it will take months -- be patient.  One sign of the return of feeling is the tingling and itching that always occurs during the healing process.
