A few days ago, I noticed a lump under my left nipple but not under my right. I was worried about what it could be so I did a bit of research. After realizing that the lump, small breast, and slight pain pointed to gynecomastia, I joined this site for help.

I really don't know what to do. Should I be worried about it happening to my right nipple too, will it become worse or is this small breast it, will it stop hurting after a while, is there anything I can do? I need answers people because I'm already extremely self conscious and I don't need this too.

Hey man, I'm not a doctor or anything so don't take my advice as medical information. Because you seem to be in the very early stages of gynecomastia, there might be a way for you to reverse the process before it becomes permanent and you have to pay $7500 for surgery like I am getting ready to do.

There is an anti-estrogen medicine out there called Nolvadex that many steroid using body builders use. Because many people who use steroids can develope gynecomastia, body builders use this when they start seeing and feeling the signs of gynecomastia, and supposedly it can help to stop or reverse the process. I have no proof that it works though, but if I could go back to when mine was first developing, I would have definitely tried it out.

Keep in mind though, you are probably a young teenager going through puberty, therefore your hormones are already naturally out of whack so it might not be a good idea to introduce this medicine into your system. Also, there's a chance that your body will defeat and it will go away on it's own over a couple years. It's up to you though. Do a google search of Nolvadex, get your facts, and do what you see fit. But like I said, I would have done it back then if I knew about it. Good Luck

You will need to see a Doctor and possibly get a referral to an Endocrinologist in order to find out what is going on.

If it turns out that there is a hormonal problem, such things are treatable. More important is the fact that balancing the hormones is a job for a specialist and you should not attempt to treat this yourself. There is very little chance that you could improve the situation but a very great chance that you could make things worse or complicate things and make a proper diagnosis much more difficult.

Gynecomastia that has existed for some time without change does not usually respond to treatment other than surgery. When the condition is identified early enough, Medical treatment can sometimes be effective at stopping further development and even even at reversing the condition.
