Is exparel worth using in this surgery for patient comfort?

Exparel is a wonderful -- but very expensive drug.  It basically keeps you virtually pain free for about 72 hours.  I usually use it when I anticipate pain due to muscle sutures, such as during a tummy tuck when I suture muscles together.  When properly performed, gyne surgery does not touch the muscles at all -- so the pain after gyne should be minimal -- like a muscle burn only.

You should certainly inquire of your surgeon about Exparel -- but be prepared for a substantial cost for the product.  That is why it is not used routinely.

Yes it's 350 bucks. Just didn't know if it's worthwhile to get it just make due without it. Dr prescribed Percocet 7.5/325 pills for me.

IMHO, the Percocet should be more than enough for you -- and at most, you might need it the first day after surgery
