not always. but its possible. my dad had it. i did too. genetics

Yeah it is possible.  My dad has a somewhat decent case of it as well.  I just know that if I ever have a son and notice that he has it, I won't hesitate to be as supportive and helpful as possible.

Is there any way to prevent your kid from getting? like taking them in to get tested?

No. There is no way to tell if someone will have Gynecomastia. In many cases, the experts don't even know 'why' it happens, let alone predicting 'if' someone will have it...  ;)
