Just curious as to how you can tell its scar tissue and not gland?

cos it feels rock hard and has a bumpy shape.  this is very noticable when u raise yr hands up in the air, make it easier to feel for scar tissue

Massaging

What i do now is get a small towel and fold it  up so its about 6-7 inch square and soak it in very cold water, then press it on my pec were  the scar tissue lies!, i do this about 3-4 times to make sure the skin is realy cold and then i slap on some arnica cream and begin to massage softly and work up until your massaging quite firmly, i can grab the bead of scar tissue between my fingers and work it quite well, i hold my arm straight up and slide my fingers up and down the scar tissue and apply firm pressure, i even grab the bead of scar tissue and get my fingers behind it and massage it here to further break down the scar tissue, after 15 mins per side i get the same towel and soak it in hot water and then i apply this to my chest a couple of times to get the blood back to the skin.

I cool my skin down for a couple of reasons but the main reason is to numb the area and it allows for more comfortable massaging, then i apply a hot towel to bring blood back in to the area to flush away the toxins that have been released through massaging, use heat for about 2 mins a side, this should warm the skin up enough.

Give it ago let me know how you get on

chris.

I prefer to individualize the scar care for each of my patients.  You can find a collection of scar care information here.

Hope this helps,

i actually have performed the massasing techniques recommended here, however everytime i perform them, they start to swell and hurt slightly the next day...they are rather puffy this morning, i think that had i never even massaged them i would have had much better results, has anyone else experienced this?   if not, or if so, has anyone had the scar tissue completely dissolve, and if so, how long afterwards

my scar tissue has got a lot better, tho its still there.  the massaging has really helped, tho u gotta be tough and massage hard till it hurts.
