I am 16 years old and wondering whether or not I have gynecomastia.  I personally think that it is fatty tissue and my nipples are engorged because of a combination of them being stretched by my overweightness(5'5" 232 lbs.) and hormones.  I can press my breast all the way in and completely feel my pectoral muscle, there are not hard lumps or anything.  But the nipples will stay puffy unless I pinch them or are sexually stimulated.  Maybe I just need to lose weight.

In most cases i've heard, it's usually that you're just overweight.  5'5 at 230 is pretty big my friend.  If you don't feel a hard gland underneath i don't think you have gyne.  Try to start losing some weight and see what happens.

The above assessment is correct. There is the possibility that the excess weight could be a real problem in that it is in the fat cells that testosterone is converted to estrogen.

Get the weight under control and keep it there.
