hi,

so far i'm very happy with the results on my left side but the right one looks similar to pre-op. i had the gland removed with a tiny bit of lipo. very little to almost no bruising somehow and the recovery has been a breeze. the doc had me stop wearing my vest a week after as the skin was already clinging nicely. my only concern is the right side. he says it is scar tissue and to massage it but the unevenness has been there since day 1 post op and is unchanged. the massaging only seems to make it more tender than it was before. i also have uneven scarring on the areola on each side...should i be massaging the scar itself to break up the scar tissue? massaging the subdermal scar tissue hard to break it up as well? despite his telling me to massage already, should i hold off? massage harder? thanks!

Uneven swelling is not unusual after surgery.  Would not recommend massage at this time -- it may actually result in more swelling.  yhou might benefit from wearing the compression garment for a few more weeks.

Best is to calm down, be patient and allow mother nature to take its course.  If your surgeon is sure you were even and symmetric on the operating table, then most likely you will be even and symmetric after the swelling subsides.
