as sensation is returning to my chest area, i'm getting intermittent soreness in my right nipple, behind which there is a hard pea sized lump that goes away under sustained pressure.

i was wondering if this is normal? i'm freaking out and would feel much better if someone else has experienced this and it went away...

This may still be some swelling or scar tissue or both.  It is most unusual for breast tissue to re-grow after gyne surgery.

Best to check with your surgeon.  He may recommend massage or just observation.  Most of these problems diminish over time.  It takes 3-6 months or more for the body to complete its healing after gyne surgery.
