is it bad when my surgon bills his practise the whole amount of the precedure? like he seemed confident and knew what he was talking about. but has anyone else got it for free? or is it a alberta thing perhaps?

Many people on these forums from Canada have had the surgery performed completely free of cost (especially if you are younger).

And even for those who didn't, the vast majority had the surgery heavily subsidized, and have paid under $1000 USD.

That in itself is definitely not any bad indication... just yet another reason to thank your lucky stars we don't live in the US.

Post more info about your surgeon and perhaps someone can provide you with more info. I also suggest posting this in the Canada forum.
