Title: I've had breasts since I was like 10. Tell me what you see.
Post by: FredL on October 19, 2020, 06:32:37 PM
I was fat as a kid, then around puberty I grew breasts. Kids made fun of me all the time. As a teenager, I lost weight so I could get girls and it wasn't a big problem. But I still had the breasts and I hated it. In my 20's people at work made fun of me but I just wrote it off as being out of shape. If I could lose weight and bench press it would go away. I'm 57 now, and while I am a flabby guy, I am not obese. 5' 10" 164 lbs. I lose weight but the breasts stay big and when I where a shirt, it doesn't even touch my gut because of the breasts sticking out.

I'm so sick of it. I have $$ in the bank and I'm finally doing something about it. I have two consultations with surgeons scheduled for the next couple weeks.

What do you see? Will they tell me to forget surgery and hit the gym, or is there relief in sight? I want a normal chest!

Had my consultation today. I'm scheduled for surgery on Jan 20 2020 with Dr Ganchi.

Ten weeks from now I'll be recovering.

Lol.. We'll all be writing 2020 throughout 2021 because there was no 2020!

I put on one of my wife's bras once as a goof and she was not amused. So far I have no need for a bra because they don't really bounce around and cause trouble that way. I just hate having them and I hate the way they look. I have some compression shirts but I don't wear them because it's too uncomfortable. But it's nice to see myself with a somewhat flat chest.

My wife is not pleased that I made the decision to get surgery. I told her what I was up to every step of the way, but she thinks I'm making a rash decision. She has concerns. Why now? What if I die on the table? What do we tell people? It will be embarrassing when our sons know (they're in their 20's), their girlfriends, their girlfriends families, etcc. How will it change me in general? What if I start into an addiction of "having things done". She loves me the way I am, boobs and all, and sees no reason for change.

I'm prepared with responses to all her concerns, but she's still apprehensive and doesn't share the excitement that I have.  Why surgery now? Because I have the time and the money and I always wanted it done. I'm still a healthy guy. I work hard to support my family and I never splurge on myself. I'm bald, my ears stick out and I have a gut but none of that bothers me. It's the boobs that slowly eat away at my soul. Embarrassment? I'm the one who has feel be embarrassed every time I'm around people. I know they look at me and ask themselves - "wow, why doesn't he do something about that?". Or "why does he dress like that.. oh, I see - he has boobs" I no longer want to be that guy. I'm already thoroughly embarrassed by this problem. It can't be any worse. So what do I care if people laugh at me getting surgery? If they can't be happy for me then I don't want them in my life. These days most normal people are happy for a friend who's making a positive step in their life.

I just realized, if my wife is embarrassed about friends and others knowing about my surgery, I can tell her that I'll cancel the surgery but we need to go bra shopping!  Instead of our friends complimenting for looking good after I fix my problem, they can compliment my nice pert boobies in my new bra. Now that won't be embarrassing at all, will it??

I think it is either surgery or a bra. You seem to prefer surgery. Your wife does not seem to like either option. I think you should do what feels best to you. Others don’t have to know the specifics of your medical procedure. Outpatient, right?

BTW, how did the bra fit, feel, look with your breasts?

My wife's bra was way too big. I looked and felt silly in it. Some guys might like the idea of wearing a bra, but not me. I don't get any pleasure, there's nothing erotic or attractive about it. I don't want to accept my boobs, I want them gone.  The only reason I lasted this long is because was in denial and I was somehow able to tune it all out. I told myself that they're not that noticeable and one day I'll lose weight and get in shape and they'll be gone.

I told her there's no need to tell anyone and I certainly don't want anyone knowing until after it's done. My son lives here and he'll wonder what's up during my recovery, so I have to tell him. He'll tell his gf, etc.. there's no way to avoid it.  I'm fine with it. Once it's done and I'm healed I might tell some friends. It's a big thing in my life and that's what friends are for.

It's outpatient but I'm getting knocked out.

My wife's parents are in their 90's and if one of them dies it could be a problem. They're far away and the family would have to travel. If it happens around the day of my surgery or early in my recovery, we'll have to make an excuse for me not to go.

Before committing to the one way street of surgery and the potential unforeseen complications, I do believe in trying a well fitting bra for a couple of months. I think it has surprised many once they have really tried one that it was a simple solution to their problems.

That's great, I'm glad you enjoy your bras. I can see how it helps guys who are big. It's logical, that's why women wear them. But that's  not for me. I've been concealing and accepting my whole life and I'm done with it. I want a chest without womanly breasts.

I look forward to wearing nicer clothes, and more colors. No layers of dark colors. Large men's shirts are always too tight in the chest, and Extra large shirts hang down my shoulders. Finally, I'll be comfortable and look good in off-the-shelf clothes. That alone has me counting the days. When I heal, I'm going shopping!(https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/72x72/1f600.png)

Good luck with the operation.  While I'm not one for cosmetic surgery (unless it's reconstructive), I understand that the idea of a man having breasts can be hard to wrap your head around, and some can't accept it.  Hopefully it all goes well for you, and hopefully it won't flip that switch that your wife is afraid of (you can't really tell before hand, can you?).

I told her there's no chance of that. I have always avoided doctors in my adult life. It took 7 years of nagging from my wife to have a cyst removed from my back. She named it "La Bumpa" ;D Besides I'm too cheap. I'm blowing my wad with this, no more surgery in this lifetime unless it's absolutely required.

But it's a legitimate concern. It's a slippery slope when you go to a plastic surgeon. Like any business, they want to keep you as a customer and they'll offer you discount coupons on botox, eye and neck lifts, and similar kinds of things. That rubs me the wrong way.  I believe a person should look their age. I know a woman my age who started with a breast reduction and that turned into an eye lift and periodic botox injections. Sure, her skin is tight but she no longer looks like the same person. And what will she look like in ten years, especially if she keeps responding to those discount offers.

Hospitals in general count on surgery.  That's where the money is.  So I can imagine that they would do stuff like that.

In fact my father once (many decades ago) managed to read a referral letter through the envelope, and it went on about how the referring doctor was giving the surgeon a good bypass patient.  Needless to say, my father wasn't impressed (and he hasn't had any issues since then).

I'm actually a lot like you then.  I have some kind of cyst on my foot that can get rather painful if I wear the wrong shoe, but I'm always saying that I'll have it removed "some time".  It's not like it's anything malignent, the doctor himself said that it's just likely to get larger over time.

Be very suspicious if they offer a coupon for breast augmentation after you are done.

I always hated how quickly the holidays fly by but this year I didn't mind it because each day I'm one day closer.
Monday I have my appt with the PS to plan things out and I have the surgery two weeks from Wednesday. I've been worried that COVID could get in the way. I had to turn down work for next week because I don't want exposure to it.

I've been counting the days. I don't even want to be seen by any of my friends until after the boobs are gone. It will be the start of a new life. I have an amazing back yard with a beautiful pool and I never ever invite people over to swim because... you know why. 22 years in this house and I'll finally have a pool party. And I won't worry about how I look in a t-shirt, won't have people saying "get in the pool" and feeling shame.
Jan 20, 2021 it all changes. Spring/Summer 2021, Here I come!

Since I started my thread in this section, I'll put updates here.

Less than a week to go before surgery. I have all my meds ready. Yesterday I went to my GP to get an EKG and his official release for surgery. Had to be there at 7:30 am! >:(  Then I went to the lab to draw blood. Tomorrow I have to get a COVID test. Then I come back home and pray that no curve balls come my way leading up to Wednesday.

My surgery is Wednesday afternoon. That's good. I've been working from home for 20 years and it's hard for me to do things early in the morning. I'm not done pooping until 10:30 am.

Time is running out for my  boobs! Two more days and they're out. Got my COVID test back negative.

Here's a throw-back pic.
I'm between 10 and 11 years old. Either before puberty or at the onset. It was a bad time in my life, kids were making fun of me all the time. I was assaulted on the school bus. Pink belly and tytty twisters, which was very painful. I'd come home with bruises.

 Good luck with your surgery.

Yes, your breasts  were quite noticeable under your tops.

People can be unaccepting of those of us who are a bit different

Again, good luck

Thanks Dale, you're nice.

All done. It was a piece of cake. I've had dental work that was way worse. So far not a hint of pain other than the headache which was gone when I woke up. It was from hunger, having to skip my coffee and bagel this morning. I'll have to get used to working at the computer with my elbows glued to my sides.

I'll type more when I'm feeling comfortable at the computer. Right now It's the couch, the TV, the cat and my wife. She's taking good care of me.

48 hours post-op

My only real discomfort is constipation and velcro from the vest rubbing against my shoulders. People aren't kidding when they say the experience was painless. I have to keep reminding myself that I had surgery, or else I'll start doing things I shouldn't. I feel like I can do anything I normally do.

Went for my first post-op appointment yesterday and got to look at things. The results look amazing. My boobs are really gone. Didn't take a post-op pic because my chest still has the marker lines all over and there's a good amount of bruising. I go back for the 1 week appt and that's when I'll have some real before and after pics.

I dreaded the thought of drainage tubes with bottles but none of that was needed. There hasn't been any leakage. I'm barely swollen at all. I really did not expect this whole thing to be so quick, simple and pain free.
That's all for now. I'll post pics when I have them.

Really happy everything is going well for you. Hit the laxatives heavy, as the anesthetic and pain killers can bind you up and that can be miserable

Here's a one-week before and after.

I can't help but wonder if maybe he could have taken more out. When I look down, I still see boobs. And the left one seems bigger. But everyone says don't judge results until a couple months have passed. I know there's still some swelling that has to go down. My wife says it's fine, if they took more my chest would look too flat and empty. My next step when I'm healed more s to lose weight and get lifting for the first time in my life.

I knew from the start it would not be perfect. I've always had an ugly body and at 57 I shouldn't really expect much. I went into this knowing that I will be thrilled with ANY improvement.

I think they look great.  If you have any pecs, you will have some bulges on the chest.  If you wife says it looks fine, then I think that is all you have to worry about.  As far as swelling after surgery, it takes quite a bit more time than people think. I have had many surgeries and my last was open heart. My cardiologist told me it would take six months for my heart not to be swollen after my surgery. They were right.

Let it heal and try and listen to and trust your wife.

Here I am 12 days after surgery. No vest, just a t-shirt.

Be honest. If you saw this guy on the street, would you say he has boobs?

FredL, if I saw that guy on the street, I wouldn't think anything of it. It's probably representative of every other guy past a certain age. Think of the last time you were at the beach or the pool and how many guys were at least as large as that, and not caring about it. Realistically it probably looks something like me at the moment and I'm not actually at the stage where I seriously need to consider my options, whether it be concealment or support or surgery. By coincidence I went to a public aquatic center the other day for the first time in years and once I took my top off, I didn't care. There was always someone bigger than me!

Not that I'm an expert, but like Traveler said, you're probably still swollen from the surgery.

Well done for taking decisive action and going ahead with your surgery. Best of luck with your journey to a new you!

Can you ask for your money back?

Just kidding!
They make you sign off on so much stuff, you're basically sht out of luck if things don't go right. He should refund me about 35%, because I feel like he only got the job 65% done.

The Dr had me pose for pics front/left/right at each appointment. My next one is March 29, which is 9+ weeks post op. If I still look like this, then the pics won't lie. He will have to admit that he fell short. My only recourse is to leave honest reviews.

No revision for me...  this was an ordeal I don't want to go through again. Going forward I just have to lose weight, work out when I'm ready, and hope for the best. At age 57 all guys are starting to look dumpy. Even the hot-body guys from 30 years ago are getting droopy.

I'm still optimistic that it's swelling and it will go down. I'm still pretty sore. Whenever I'm out of the vest my nipples are hard, especially the left one. When that stops I think the boob look in a t-shirt will be less. Only time will tell!

Here's what it looks like 14 days post-op. Now I'm wishing I had more pics from before. I avoided cameras at all cost. When I allowed a pic to be taken, I always made sure the problem was concealed.

I didn't realize how pert my titties were. It's funny - i hated having them and I'm thrilled to have them reduced and hopefully gone, but they were kinda nice. Not the worst boobs to have when it comes to being a guy with womanly breasts.

If you look at my neck, shoulders, collar bone, it appears that I'm still a bit swollen. They are much more defined in the before picture, and i'm actually down a few pounds since then.

Each day when I pull the corset off and I take a shower, I'm more pleased with what I see in the mirror. But one thing that's really annoying is all the sensation I get from my nipples! Holy crap. If there was a nipple meter, it would be pinned. If I even blow on either of them, or look at it wrong, it reports back. All sensation is amplified  x1000. And not in a good way.

After my shower I can't wait to get the compression vest on again so my nips are guarded. I know this is normal and I'm waiting for the day when the nips are like they used to be.

One thing that concerns me a little is the crease that has formed under my left breast. It's real. But then again, what the hell.. I'm 57 and getting older. I'll name the crease Jim and greet him when he wants attention. Hi Jim!

While I still feel that the PS could have removed a lot more fat from my chest, I am still thrilled to have less man bosom. And I feel like a new man after dropping some weight. I feel better, stronger, and more energetic now than I did 30 years ago.

LEFT is June 2012. I'm 48 and I weigh 188 lbs

RIGHT is April 2021. I'm 57 and I weigh 158 lbs. And I had gynecomastia surgery 3 months ago.

One year anniversary. In as few words as possible:

It was the best decision I ever made for myself.
The money I spent was well worth it. No regrets.
My upper body feels comfortable all the time.
I look good in every shirt. Friends have all told me I look good.

I always wanted it and now I have it.

I have what you have. I am a 38C; 5'11'', 178lbs Age 80. After 2 consultations with a plastic surgeon I decided to learn to love what my genetics gave me. Wearing a bra, awkward at first, has become normal. While self-conscious at the beach or pool it has become a "so what". Plus, wearing a bra creates a sensuous sensation. Such is life.

At 80 I would not be willing to go through with the surgery. The recovery was a challenge I was able to deal with, but I don't think I'd be up for it as an older man.

There is no doubt that wearing a bra is awkward at first. I started wearing a bra full time when I was sixteen years old. It took a little getting used to. I am fortunate that I was able to start relatively early. Now, as a woman of transgender experience, it's just a fact of life that I am expected to have the girls  in a bra.

I am still confused by our society why it's expected that I wear a bra now when it wasn't accepted that I wore one when I was still pretending to be a man. 🤔

When I was confronted with the option of a bra or surgery, I chose surgery. There wasn't any debate. I am cisgenger, heterosexual, with a desire to present as masculine. The prospect of going further feminine with a bra was not attractive to me.

You get use to the sensations of wearing a bra fairly quickly. It becomes so second nature that you are aware of having a bra on about 5% of the day. By contrast, the sensations from being braless were much more continuous. If you are not inclined to go through the rather significant process of having surgery then wearing a bra just works, as it does for most women. A well fitting bra greatly helps reaching maximum karma with your breasts.

At one time, I had considered a double radical mastectomy. Looking back, it would have been a horrible mistake. That's not to say in any way that anyone else should be on my path. However I always liked having my girls. I never complained about having to wear a bra. The only complaint that I still have about wearing a bra is buying them 😆. I am a 36H UK sizing. I usually pay $75-100 each. But that's what we do to look and feel our best.
