Hi,
Today is my third day postop.  I am feeling as if i have air bubbles under my aerola.  Can someone please tell me if this is normal?  I just talked to the nurse and she told me that this can just be a swelling and will subside after one week or two.

Dr. Elliot also mentioned about having postop bubbles in this thread: http://www.gynecomastia.org/smf/index.php?topic=18442.0.  Not sure if the post meant that this is normal or abnormal.

Here are my pics:

It sounds to me that air pockets are normal. However, how often it happens is another story... ;)

Just chill a while dude... Give it a few weeks. The air pockets will prolly work themselves out...

That must be the best shaped chest for pre-op I've ever seen!
Or am I missing the problem here?

The 'problem' is, 'er... was ;)  that he was uncomfortable with the way his chest looked.

thanks for your response guys.

I think the preop pictures are slightly misleading as they were taken in surgeon's office from a distance and it was slightly cold at that time.  It is more visible in my second preop picture (http://img132.imageshack.us/i/beforepicture002.jpg/).  Also, as i am always a lean guy (5'5'', 125lbs), it is difficult to identify this from a distance which is why i was able to hide this from everyone until now.......but i never felt comfortable taking off my shirt in public.

I also got a message from another member of this group that in some rare cases, bubbles can form and they will go away by themselves.  I have my first postop doctor visit on oct 2nd.  Hopefully this is something normal.

Thanks again for you response guys.

I am one week postop now and i dont have the feeling of bubbles or fluid under my aerola anymore.  I guess it is just normal/temporary to have that feeling right after the surgery.

Relax, it is not unusual for there to be air trapped under the skin after surgery.  It can feel or sound "squishy."  It will disappear by itself and it has no consequence about the ultimate surgical results.
