Hi,

Just want to ask how to resolve the formed hypertrophic scar around areola.
Its just my 2nd month and two weeks post op, hope im not too late for this.
Well you see, its my problem now. I can wear now clothes that I'd almost wanted but
i cant take it off in the public coz i might scare anyone. Well its not too horrible to see
but its not normal.

There's scar formed half around my left areola. Any suggestions or advises on how to resolve it?
Is it thru surgery again or are there any alternative ways like herbal or something to put on it?

I cant contact my PS, think he's out of the country. Maybe thru this way i can have any good
advises and do something about this as early as it is before he arrives. I just really hope that im not too late to resolve this scar.

Ill just post pics/shots of my left areola maybe later.
Will deeply appreciate if any of you guys out there give any advise.

thanks.

If indeed you have a hypertrophic scar, it can be treated with injections into the scar with a (good) steroid, Kenalog or similar.  This will require your surgeon's treatment.  Alternatively, if your surgeon is not available, most dermatologists could do it as well.  There is no urgency to treatment -- usually hypertropic scars grow to a certain point and then stop -- and treatment can be initiated whenever it is convenient.

In the meantime, if you want to apply something, try Mederma or ScarGuard (both available over the counter).

by the way, is Dermatix and Contractubex both works as Mederma or Scarguard? These are the two available over the counter application to the scar.
Kindly advise if this can also help. thanks again.

Sorry, I am unfamiliar with the other two that you mentioned -- so I cannot comment on them.
