I noticed everyone says "what to do for swelling?". whats wrong with icing? I iced my chest from the day I had surgery and it greatly reduced my sweelling and I don't even think I have any swelling.

Also, is it normal for my check to feel numb around where the surgery was?

i play baseball and i heard not to ice your arm after pitching.. why? icing causes blood flow to slow down in the area being iced.. and the best way to heal is with good blood flow

I was thinking of icing my chest but i decide not to. just let it heal on its own. it might be slow but the swell will go down and down as time goes on.
i think icing your chest will heal your chest fast but at the same time it wont allow the swell to go down as much as it could. i could be wrong, thats just my opinion.
